Israel has been pounding Iranian deliveries to Hezbollah for years in Syria, surely they must know what they’re up against.

With Ukraine gobbling up ground stand off weapons the only option seems like an extensive aerial campaign.

Makes sense why the US never supplied aerial weapons in Ukraine, they were saving it for Hezbollah.

To quote SMH below, in lieu of the fruits of diplomacy (as bewails LJ, just returned from a speaking engagement in Moscow), we now have any number of “tripwires” in place across the ME. On the same Judge Nap program posted here a few days back, we see, through Hungarian PM Orban that there are no longer any “principles and approaches.” Only tripwires. Add to that diplomacy has been cancelled, that Sullivan is unheard again, and that in DC, they’re all running around with their hair ablaze…oh boy…Macgregor puts it thus: “Washington is a planet. It is not a part of the rest of us.”

With a seemingly endless array of “tripwires”

cluttering virtually every path forward, it’s difficult to see how the calamity of escalation can be avoided. As your earlier post noted, we have a bunch of people who want to play “lets pretend” and spend their days having tea with Alice and debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin with the Mad Hatter instead of dealing with the mess that they created. American influence and prestige lay in tatters and they huff and puff like the US is the biggest “bad ass” on the street. Fiscal profligacy is rampant in the political class and the stock market is on the rise. The economy is fan-fricking-tastic and yet auto loan delinquencies are through the roof and commercial real estate is a ticking time bomb. Folks are dipping into savings and living paycheck to paycheck, things are better than ever under Bidenomics. Yippee!

Meanwhile, back on planet earth, we are all holding our collective breath wondering WTF is going on and just who the hell is minding the store? Well, at least we have Mike Johnson as Speaker and Kamala Harris as VP, so we got that going for us.

"And the American Stock Market Index reaches new all-time highs"... Has US Involved international issues been disconnected domestically? Is it me, or has reality in the English Language been altered... Makes for Christmas Season this year becoming a time for reflection for each of us for eternal considerations. This mortal world is certainly an unstable place these days! Blessings and Merry Christmas one and all! (WrH)

I never got that either, Wayne. The Stock Market should be in the basement, but here we are.

Fearless Prediction: USN + sailors will soon raise eyebrows back home as the bad news hits.

Questions may arise: What are WE doing supporting genocidal-types with our blood and treasure?

It's a very insightful article, but it is speculative. I didn't see any mention in it of Sullivan of anyone else giving a green light. Do you have a link for that? A green light from the US means US involvement. I find it hard to believe that the US wants to be involved in a greatly widened war.
