Could have been an Israeli deep state plot against Netanyahu. Could have been a Netanyahu plot against the Israeli deep state. Either is plausible.

I say: a pox on both houses.

Obama/Biden may hate Netanyahu.

I say: the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend.

Netanyahu may carry the label “conservative.”

I say: labels hide as much as they reveal.

The possibilities are endless. Of course, it could be the other way round: Netanyahu knew about it and let it happen. That way he can bounce back as the Supreme War Lord and save Israel.

Well, were I in Netanyahu's shoes, I would think it very plausible that the deep Israeli state deliberately allowed this attack to occur. They may not have realized how bloody awful the attack would be- they may well have figured it would be an open clash with only military/police targets before getting rebuffed- but I don't really trust anyone to do their jobs any longer without considering the political benefit of not doing it.

Stranger--well, equally strange, for sure--things have happened. 60 yrs. ago this month the CIA assassinated the POTUS, and got away with it.

Yancey, I hope you aren't implying that the Israeli DS are as incompetent as our own one? Heaven forfend! If it was the DS behind this, your last sentence is the killer: they don't realise what they've unleashed. This could fizzle out once Israel feels that they've got their Eye for an Eye kill rate, or it could go regional/global.

I don’t think anyone thought it would be this successful, including:

- Israel

- Hamas

- Iran

- Herzbolla

Makes sense that there are two factions, Hillary wanted a 2 state solution while Trump immediately made Jerusalem the capital.

I have ceased taking any reported events whatsoever at face value, I distrust my own senses, because of AI. I believe nothing the government / media say anymore, I regret having ever trusted either of those institutions.

SCT, thankfully we have brains capable of thinking independently and hearts capable of feeling independently, plus alternative sources of information (such as this great one).

This is huge. If it was a false flag it shows a huge schism in the Israeli government. If it wasn't, the IDF and by extension Netanyahu are implicated for being grossly incompetent. Bad for him either way. So, is Netanyahu just paranoid? No, he is not stupid and he would have to be stupid to put this out in public without evidence. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Netanyahu knows this. So who wants to divide the Israeli house? For what purpose? And does Netanyahu then believe the damage can be undone and he can retain power?

Israel has been massively divided for a long time, Diss. I watched a wonderful French documentary about the Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem. These people make up a sizable part of the population and their birth rate is out of sight. The other Israelis are some of most secular people on Earth. There is going to be a massive collision between these two groups in the near future.

Well, gosh, if a, what do the kids call it, a "false flag" event can happen on such a scale in one country with such dire consequences, I wonder what hard to explain events in other countries might actually have been "false flag" events? It almost invites a person to think and not just placidly accept his mainstream media programming.

If I refuse to think, I can wallow in mainstream media and be told that I'm one of the sophisticated ones for not doing so.

Whenever my thinking about Netanyahu slips into the negative, I always come back to the fact(?) Obama tried to take him out, so there must be some real value in Bibi.
