The Polish PM and his "two choices" speech reminds of one of the great Woody Allen's sayings: “More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.”

As to that last part about the masks, I'm skeptical.

Madonna looks positively grotesque after her latest marathon plastic surgeries and she was seen at the new satanic grammies without a mask.

Jeez, you mean that wasn't a mask? The last time I saw a mouth like that, it had a river running out of it and was called an estuary.

Much evidence presented of what were originally termed Blood Clots that are in fact protein growths within the circulatory system). This was release Nov 21, 2022 and appears well documented. Terrifying at a minimum. Covid 'Vaccine' is not 'good'. My understatement for the week. (WRH)

"The dollar isn’t going away—America is and will remain basically rich and some adult is likely to put an end to the current insanity. ... To characterize Powell going 'full dovish-retard' is nothing more than projection of the highest type. Powell did no such thing.....The Fed will be at 7% or more by the time this is over." Yes, there will be some adjustment, and some hardship, but the Kids in Kongress will not be allowed to totally wreck our economy.

Assuming Luongo is correct about his interpretation of the Fed and Powell, I’ll admit this is the first time in my adult life I’m actually in favor of the institution.

But the state of Ca has a billboard saying N95’s are the best masks on the freeway near my house.

Nearby is a billboard about over 60 has more risk for Covid.

And another billboard says get boosted to stay up to date.

G'day el' Forbes sir, I'm torn between the real-world news making one nauseous and the average college-grad of today lacking an attention span beyond the Tic-Tock video time period limit. Plus, what's important isn't how you are (character being a bad word anymore), it's how you think others view you after all... Altho' Madonna needs some help there in particular. :^) {WRH}

I never got Madonna's "sex appeal" even when she looked halfway human, Wayne. I always thought she was as sexy as a dead halibut.

As I have always thought of her, except I've some pics of some pretty sexy halibut I've caught... (WRH)

Ha! Whatever floats your boat, Wayne! I've heard it gets pretty lonely on those long trucker trips! :)

Funny, that! It's not the trips, it's the vacations that count sometimes... Altho' for a while I lived in SE Alaska where even I could catch fish... even one halibut that was bigger 'n me. With today's prices, I don't eat halibut much anymore. Change! Not always how we'd like it I guess. Best at ya!

I love how a situation that, in any functioning, real-world business, would involve a 5-minute call to facilities, is dramatized into "recalibrating assumptions."

The Poles and the Balts have little reason to like the Russians. However, their hatred could lead to WW3.

When you look at the largely-overlapping aims of Law and Justice in Poland and Fidesz in Hungary--preservation of tradition, historical roots, Roman Catholicism, resistance to Western European degeneracy, etc.--it's stunning to see how diametrically these countries have approached the Ukraine conflict. Stunning, that is, until you consider history--a (if not the) central element in any nationalist movement. I pray that Poland can undertake a more-realistic assessment of its past and come to appreciate that these are not the Russians of the Tsars or the Soviets.

There's lots to be said in favor of Law and Justice's opposition to EU cultural imperialism--just as with Orban in Hungary. But, as you say, the extreme obsession with Russia and the past gets in the way of what could be the Polish way forward. It has led, for example, to vicious attacks on Orban for not joining the Kaczyński crusade against Russia. That's hardly a positive for a renaissance of Western Civ.

In virtually every form of Western nationalism there are large portions of anachronism, especially the identification of the masses with the war making of the aristocracy. This is also true for Poland. With the rise of nationalism as mass movements redrawing of traditional borders was inevitable. Attempting to go back to that past, to absorb Western Ukraine into a new Greater Poland, is delusional.

And yet Poland and Hungary had close historical ties, which Kaczyński's crew trashed--which shows their lack of balance. Stefan Bathory, the last Polish king to take Moscow, was Hungarian. There was also Poland's finest hour--Jan Sobieski's ride to the rescue of Vienna in 1683 and further exploits in Hungarian lands.

The thought of German tanks rolling through (all right, being freighted through) Poland to Ukraine, and perhaps even Russia, should give every sane Pole pause.

I guess the younger generation of Poles has gotten over their mistrust of American politicians. To the WWII generation and those immediately after, FDR was an example of what not to trust about America. Growing up in the Detroit area we had many polish neighbors who use “FDR” like a curse word for selling them out to Stalin.
