Admittedly Dewitt, MI, is located in Clinton County, which is in the “metro” area of the Michigan state capital, Lansing. Nevertheless, it remains a Red county—although no longer overwhelmingly so, as it was in the past. Why am I telling you this? Follow the city and county links, above, for the demographics and the voting data. This—follow the link below—is the kind of stuff that’s going on in government schools across the country, even in Trump country. (Spoiler alert, Clinton County went for Trump twice.) This is just one particularly extreme example. You can bet that there’s all sorts of other crazy stuff going on in government schools
Thx for posting. People, wake up and push back. Those of us with common sense and a moral or two do not have to be victim of the 'woke establishment'. Yes it takes time and effort. It means we have to give up leisure time. (Just think what George Washington's soldiers gave up??). The last thing Freedom is, is "free".
There has been a small push back against the woke in semi-rural Michigan counties. Michigan is bigger cities surrounded by rural/farm communities but a lot of residents are people you would normally see “escaping” to the suburbs. I won’t be surprised if the next act in DeWitt is conservatives running to oust the libs who normally gravitate to school boards. It happened in similar circumstances in the Grand Rapids area.
GR used to be ground zero for Dutch Calvinist practical thinking, now it’s descending into a liberal hellhole. My college roommate still owns a business there but is wrapping things up, as it’s not the place he grew up in (but what is). I’ll take northern MI, they still ignore Lansing anyway they can.

Grand Rapids is pretty much ground zero for normality in Western Michigan, itself a bastion of normality.
