A little bit off topic, but we're seeing a massive - very obvious - push in advertising far left candidates in our state (Kansas). It's clear these candidates have deep, deep funding via dark money given the blanket messaging over the 'main' TV stations here, signage in yards, intersections and door-hangars. The Left is mobilizing in a very big way here, and I'm sure it is also happening in other states.

Meanwhile, was there even a whisper of 'impeachment' by the GOP over the MAL raid or Zhous open declaration of war on Trump and his supporters? Not really...

I suppose that leads us to the distinction between Republicans--who can work with Zhou--and MAGA Republicans.

Seems Biden / WH lied about their involvement

I’m sure everyone is shocked they would lie.

At the risk of offending some of you, I would propose that Trump is 16 moves ahead of his opposition, and is leading them deeper into disaster. President or not in the future, he has a score to settle and a job he intends finishing. Not content with, as Napoleon advised, sitting back and letting them destroy themselves, he and maybe some Judas goats are encouraging them to do the outlandish. This raid and the Biden speech may impress some hardcore supporters, but they are hard to justify to the masses, especially with inflation, crime, shortages and the likelihood of a worldwide economic crash imminent. So much of what they have done is illegal, and they are covering it up with more illegalities. It is high time that those in government who have enabled this regime to take power, thinking it the lesser of two evils, start rethinking and maybe understand where this is leading.

Granted, Trump's statements were not 'politically correct' when he responded to the outrageous accusations made against him, but his actions endeared him to me "because of the wonderful things he does," and not like that fraud of a Wizard of Oz or Biden. It may be wishful thinking on my part that he is still willing to fight for us, but I see no other public figure who might just possibly get us back our government.

Was this merely a step in laying the groundwork for a new October surprise by the Dems? They can't have believed for a nanosecond that Trump would meekly and silently acquiesce to the FBI's invasion of his home in clear violation of his Fourth Amendment rights under an overbroad affidavit, overbroad warrant and overbroad seizure (boxes that contained a single sheet of alleged "classified" information under the conditions set forth in the warrant caused the entire box to be confiscated). No wonder Garland took months to decide and why he always looks so nervous!

The DOJ also can't have believed that, when Trump publicly expressed his well-founded outrage, that his supporters (as well as an unknown number of non-supporters) would be similarly outraged and fearful that they too could be subjected to similar mining of their heretofore "personal" private affairs. Trump was never more right when he said that we are their real target, he's only standing in their way.

Now, I've come to believe that the FBI has already activated teams of provocateurs to tempt the short-sighted and weak-minded on our side into participating in some sort of armed response to their calumny. ("Blood in the streets if Trump is indicted" read a recent headline.) These FBI plots have likely already begun and make the "Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping" look like a pre-school game of tag. This is the predicate for seizure of all guns in civilian hands and possibly martial law in October. Expect another even more sophisticated attempt to steal your vote in November. Nancy Pelosi doesn't look terribly worried about losing her Speakership, does she?

No matter how low we imagine this seditious, illegitimate "government" CAN go, it still surprises us with how much lower it WILL go.

It seems to me that there are still millions of us operating under the illusion that it's still 2015 in terms of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Legal system as a whole. I'm as guilty as anyone, 'surprised' when the Leftists sitting in power flagrantly disregard the rules by which we've played....up until now. The reality is, we're un-moored from the Constitution, and the laws we grew up with.

You and me can still play by those rules, but just know that our political adversary's are well beyond any sense of 'fair play'; they mean to burn the place to the ground to take and/or maintain power.

The real question is, what are we prepared to do about it if the law no longer applies?

Spin, à la Politico: “Judge Orders Halt to DoJ Review,” when in fact the DoJ loudly announced it had itself already terminated its review of DJT docs! No, the judge granted Trump’s request to appoint a Special Master; she did not “halt” anything…you say tomato, etc…

Ok, my question is how can we know that the FBI did not “salt” the seized documents?

They have already completed their inspection, so we just take them at their word as to what was there? Like the empty folders that they “found”? Nope I am fully convinced that they found their man, now they are looking for the crime. After all, what’s a little manufactured evidence among the folks at the DOJ and the FBI.

Turley

...As I stated earlier, the Justice Department dramatically over-played its hand by claiming that the appointment would threaten national security or that there was no legal basis for such an appointment...

...Those were the same claims used to oppose any release of any information in the redacted affidavit -- only to be forced to release such a document without compromising national security.

When dealing with lawfare, you have to be thorough, or you will be attacked due to not being thorough.

And with delay by Trump on filing, the doj / fbi had already gone through everything.

By Trump delaying his filing, he may have given the doj more rope to hang themselves in the public’s view / media spotlight / news cycle. Which Trump is fighting in. He is dripping information on the raid, so it’s fresh content for the news cycle. The latest is the fbi searching his sons room and leaving it a mess.

Now medical, tax, and accounting records?

It feels like whenever authorized this did not expect a response from Trump, snd thought it would be Russiagate / Mueller again, where Trump did not respond much for fear of being charged with obstruction of Justice.

Yeah, but it was a fishing expedition. They were happy to get their grubby hands on anything they could in the hopes that it would yield some "dirt." Even medical records! Shoot first and ask questions later is their attitude. They couldn't care less about the law or the courts as long as they got any negative info on Trump.

It's not so much that the DC Republicans are playing by Marquess of Queensberry rules, it's that they are not-so-secretly applauding the Dems' attempts to knock Trump out as leader of the GOP. He threatens GOP-e rice bowls just as much as he does the Dems. The members of the UniParty are united on this, no matter their public posturing which simulates debate. They are damned by their lukewarm protestations or outright silence.

Sadly, for our former "heroes", such as DeSantis, Noem, Tim Scott and a host of others, they forgot the maximum, "If you aim at the king, you'd better kill him or he will crush you." By failing to full-throatedly condemn the raid on Trump's home, they dropped their masks too soon and we see them for whom they really are. And they are not on the side of We the People.

I don't really disagree with you either - please note that I have "liked" all of your thoughtful well-reasoned posts.

I too applaud DeSantis and Noem for what they did for their states and the inspiration they provided for all of us in a very dark time.

My concern is that they have each been touted as possible presidential or vice-presidential candidates, if Trump determines not to run (or perhaps, challenge him even if he does). Of course, in the case of DeSantis, Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution prohibits him from taking the spot as Trump's V.P., as the president and vice-president cannot hail from the same state. And why would he accept the second spot, when he has a good chance at the Big Chair among those who are repulsed by Mean Tweets?

Given their alleged ambition for a national role, the Dems and their lackeys in the press have already begun testing how much tolerance DeSantis in particular has for outrageous, unfounded, attacks on his policies, family and character. So far, he has survived and even flourished under the barrage, but these are mere pinpricks as compared to those aimed at Trump.

I have sometimes thought that Trump has not announced his candidacy in order to give DeSantis a chance to get used to the inevitable escalating brickbats thrown his way and that the press' hysterical inflation of their differences into the "Trump-DeSantis feud" may easily be more Trumpian strategic misdirection brilliance to lull the Dems into believing that they've successfully divided and conquered Trump and DeSantis. However, I think it was an unforced error on DeSantis' part not to be more forceful in denouncing the raid on Mar-a-Lago. After all, if they can so egregiously violate Trump's rights with impunity, they can do it to DeSantis, just as they did in leaking Never-Trumper Nikki Haley's donor list by their pet IRS.

Trump has broad shoulders - he can take whatever they throw at him and turn it back on the Dems, exposing them for the hoaxers and frauds they are.

At some point, even currently delusional Dem voters will see how easily the wrath of the Deep State can be directed toward themselves. Raging inflation and border insecurity affect both the Red and Blue voters equally, but were not mentioned last Thursday.

The Red Speech began what I hope will be a wakeup call for Biden voters. What a self-inflicted debacle! I pray that the potential avalanche of traditional Dem defections on November 3 could be a result hidden from pollsters by frightened Dem voters.

DeSantis has done well for himself so far, but Trump is truly the Roadrunner. Possibly, the most honest President ever.
