“Xi stated that Chinese diplomats would be pushing these ideas with European powers: Germany, France, Italy. These are countries who major export market is China…” (Mercouris)

It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall when Xi calls Macron and the other Euros: “what was that you said the other day about strategic autonomy?” If Macron ever thought he’d have some leverage over Putin, he’s met his match now. Let’s just hope Xi can hear his response - M has had to travel with a generator truck to give speeches because the EDF (electricity unions) keep cutting the power (!) everywhere he goes…but seriously, the Chinese are light-years ahead of the ludicrously incompetent bunch in DC.

I think Z called Xi, for some rejected ambassador issue. Xi didn't call him.

As these things go, the important thing is that Xi took Zee's call.

Will the high school team surrounding DementiaJoe grasp that they’re up against pros in the Show? Nope. We are governed by dangerous morons who are too dumb to know how dumb they are.

Thank a Biden voter!

"Ukraine could play a significant future role in China's Belt & Road Initiative"

Absolutely true.

... and likely to become a point of tension between Russia and the CCP: Russia is actively interested in ensuring she has at worst neutral border states. A mega grain producer and gas line conduit via Ukraine aligned *strategically* with China will make Russia as discomfitted as a proto-NATO entity. These are times of exceptional opportunism in the unstable "enemy of my enemy is my friend" mode: won't last, history rolls along
