I guess this would have to be the big geopolitical and war story for today—unless you’re one of those people who thinks Putin never does anything but bluff:
Aren't there like 400 4-star officers now in the military? That combined with members of Congress should require a large amount of room to roll the dice like in the game of Risk. In that game, the most defensible position was the land mass known as "Asia". Hhhhmmm... Maybe they're getting together, inviting Matthew Broderick and having a "War Games" movie night.
Our military leadership has a third world look to it with all these high ranking officers with chests full of medals. The resemblance to South American Military strongman carrying out a coup is rather stark. It seems like the "everyone gets a trophy mentality" can be observed in all our areas of life now.
Good to have mentioned war-gaming Mark! Some history. In 1973, Nixon authorized under Sec of Def James Schlesinger, within the ONI, the Office of Net Assessment. Remember that Schlesinger had been at CIA previously. They were well aware of the war-gaming activities that had come out of RAND and other places, indeed, Andrew Marshall who headed ONA, had come out of this background. They all knew there were issues/limitations with what was being done and the “advice” being given, so another place was needed in an attempt to get real Net Assessment done. Both of “think tanks” you mention doing “war-gaming” are part of the old Globalist guard. It does not take a genius to know that there are grave issues with “war” with China, or that China has done a great deal to move digital infrastructure to places that are not available to US weapons. So why would they do the gaming and come out with the various results? Who is the audience? What is the aim? Interesting to think about a Trump presidency in this regard. Recall that the first two foreign leaders he met with after ‘16 election were Abe of Japan and Xi of China, Putin may have been third, or close to it. Trump’s grandchildren speak fluent Mandarin. Trump knows that Taiwan is intimately connected to the Mainland, in so many ways.
While there is still an office of net assessment, that is not what they do. It is agenda driven, something Andy Marshall was always pushing back against.
There is only one place attempting to do real net assessment in the US, and it is not part of the government.
You know what? I hope they do try. Nothing will collapse the evil empire faster than actually engaging in something stupid. Imagine the moment the resistance sees that the ammo is depleted. Every base will be overrun and there’s not a damn thing they’ll be able to do about it. I understand the calculus of Hezbollah and Iran. They are going for broke. They can either suck up the abuse and humiliation forever or fight back. Either way the anglozionazis are going to try to genocide them. Why do it on the empires terms?
Iran and Herzbolla are fighting back, just not with direct attacks by boots on the ground, but more of a slow, war of attrition which is slowly destroying the Israeli economy. And per an article I read yesterday, degrading their missile defenses with targeted strikes.
Israel is fighting by targeting key people in Herzbollah, and per them degrading Herzbolla’s missile capabilities from the air.
#USNavy's USS Abraham Lincoln carrier group unable to launch fighter jets until a commercial tanker is located to replace the Navy oiler Big Horn that ran aground yesterday.
Still, a commercial oiler is much slower than the Big Horn forcing the carrier to travel at reduced speeds, making it vulnerable to enemy attacks.
The navy is scrambling to find a commercial oil tanker to refuel the Abraham Lincoln carrier group as the Big Horn is the only oiler the Navy has in the Middle East.
If the Navy resorts to using a commercial oil tanker as a temporary replacement, it would need to install a Consolidated Cargo Handling and Fueling (CONSOL) system for underway replenishment operations.
This system includes specialized refueling rigs, tensioned fueling hoses, and high-capacity fuel pumps—all essential for safely transferring fuel to warships at sea. The tanker would also require robust communication and control systems to ensure precise coordination during refueling maneuvers.
The US Navy, once at the top of global naval supremacy, is now facing a lot of difficulties due to recruitment failures, lack of shipyard capacity, ship maintenance delays, and a top brass more focused on pushing DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) ideology than maintaining readiness and capability.

From the peanut gallery, it looks like Five eyes is Six eyes, and we are being worn like a skin suit.

Here's my new review of Andrei Martyanov's new book, America's Final War.
I hope someone takes him seriously.

Vietnam etc were money making opportunities. War is our number 1 Industry.
Ancient Rome collapsed, fighting wars on credit, but obviously these experts do not study history.
The number 1 lesson from history , Not to Start a War with Russia!

No. I don't want my kids or future grandchildren auto enrolled into the military please.

I think this is a " sitting duck" scenario?
OT..What wizard of smart, thought naming anything after the disastrous battle of Little Big Horn was a great Idea?
I am assuming the name references the battle?

It may be prudent to invest in these (although I haven't)

I'd be leery of Megatron - source of some fake news lately
1. This isn't actually a new story.
2. Putin has specifically suggested that he could respond to "deep strikes" asymmetrically.
3. Russia is known to have contacts with the Houthis and to have provided assistance of various sorts.
4. I do try to be careful with Megatron.
