For me and my house, calling up reservists does not bode well and it certainly doesn’t pass the smell test. The flag-waving language of “Operation Atlantic Resolve”, screams duplicity and subterfuge with a pinch of snake oil thrown in for good measure.

Every time I reflect on the absolute carnage that is being inflicted upon the people of Ukraine, I am saddened, embarrassed and infuriated. To think that anyone in a capacity of leadership is ok with a proxy war that is literally destroying an entire generation of young men is truly beneath contempt. This whole misguided adventure is a both a blemish on the national honor as well as a total disgrace to what the nation supposedly represents.

I am dumbfounded by how far we have fallen in such a short time.

It would be nice to think that cooler, saner heads are starting to prevail in the Western leadership (or at least that there might be fissures among them). But alas there is this coming out of Vilnius:

Sorry to say it seems the sending of reservists to the Baltics could be indicative of the next stage of "Operation Atlantic Resolve," after Ukraine is no longer a viable avenue for confrontation.

"Saner heads, while that's a relative term" not only is a wonderful description of our political class but it also gave me a good laugh! I never thought I would associate Bill Burns and hope - but here we are. Thanks for your reply and your post!

I found this article today which, while not exactly on topic is worth noting in a big picture sense. 2nd link is from the article and deals with the theory of colour programming - again, worth a read. Read it with Tom Luongo's theory of European elites in mind.

You'll note Niall McCrae is a trade unionist. Don't let this put you off: The Workers of England trade union is not affiliated with and receives no funding from any political party. It's why few people have ever heard of it.

It was also the only union that did not roll over and wag it's tail re. 'Covid'. I was a Branch Sec for UNISON, workplace rep for them and UNITE, T&G, life-long unionist. At best a compromise but I was disgusted at the cronyvirus capitulation (in UK and more-or-less worldwide) so the last two years of my working life were spent not in a workplace union. I kick myself even now for ever taking them seriously.

As for blue-and-yellow: guess what colors are/were worn by HMP inmates deemed a high risk (of escape)? https://i.imgur.com/QRIC1ZYg.jpg

Crikey! That's literally a Ukr flag! I think of all the things I've woken up to these last few years the colour programming is the most chilling. Not sure why.

It seems “the winds of war” are picking up post Vilnius, ie increasing insanity. As Orban says, the US could end the conflict immediately. What I take from your trenchant, unsparing post Mark is that this is Zhou’s war: Zhou in the ring with Zlochevsky (too many Z’s!!). Of course Zhou in his brilliance was supposed to come out swinging and deliver a death-blow to Russia. And now the two Z’s have achieved the exact opposite: the destruction and dismemberment of Ukraine, and potentially Nato. But no matter, Zhou powers on, literally mindless that with Germany now heady with revanchist dreams, France trying to stay alive, and Poland’s leaders eager to please London/DC, we have a WW III scenario in the making. Would that Zhou were capable of being a REAL peace president, stopping the war, sitting down with the Russians to craft a lasting peace. To me that might mean his re-election.

…but apparently, per the Zerohedge article linked below, Zhou won’t get a chance to run as the peace candidate. Heaven help us.

I haven’t seen this mentioned, but what if Russia wins and Ukraine is subsumed into Russia? Then the border with NATO gets a whole lot closer. Instantly.

But Russia now has the whole of Ukraine as a buffer zone, and NATO can't make Ukraine a member.

Operation Atlantic Resolve. A harmless name, an easier sell to the American people, far from the destruction and carnage piling up much further east. Our next Operation Atlantic Resolve will be to assist struggling farmers in Kansas and Nebraska. We can’t take our eyes off the lunatics running our country for a second.

Those 3,000 reservists are going to be in the Baltics acting as the US forward-deployed maniacs to ensure the Baltic states huff when Russia decides to Puff. Meaning, they'll be enjoying smoked fish, Beetroot soup, pickled vegetables and dumplings while pontificating as to why they are there and who's providing toilet paper in mass quantities.

Yeah, I'm sure the California Zephyr is ready, willing, and waiting to be asked. If so, I think this raises the stakes for DeSantis.

Doesn't surprise me. Brits have always had bad teeth due to poor diet and too much sugar. A lot of them also go to Bulgaria for cheaper treatment. Here in Switzerland, I recently lost a few teeth and was offered some implants. Unfortunately, my wife would let me sell our house and our kids into slavery in order to pay for them!

It's been happening for years. The govt changed the dentistry contracts some years back so their funding comes from the NHS trusts their practices sit in but a lot of the funding never gets to them because the NHS overspends. About 90% of dentists are refusing to take on NHS work so people who can't pay privately (on top of what they pay into the system) end up pulling their own teeth ...

And still so many Brits saying how the NHS is the best in the world!

Expand full comment

Yep - we've been soaked in that mantra for about 2 decades. The NHS issue is very very complicated but ultimately it's now a major cash cow for pharma and private companies contracted to supply or maintain it - Tony Blair started it all during his premiership. Trying to sort out the NHS would be like trying to get gum out of hair without using scissors. So here we are pulling our own teeth out...

I sense this is the future for citizens of the USA too. Although they will have plenty of money for those immigrants they wish to replace white America with.

That is happening here. The thousands of men arriving illegally by dinghi are being put up in 5* hotels, given access to Drs and dentists, legal funding, pocket money and allowed to come and go as they please. Govt is performing a pantomime of trying to deal with it but it really is just an act. And back to the NHS - it is now taking the entirety of income tax to pay for it and shows no signs of improving. Do not let your govt impose a socialist health system on you.

The military cannot meet recruiting goals and the retention rates are likely abysmal. Enough of those in uniform are separating at EAOS or retiring at the first opportunity rather than endure the daily embarrassments being heaped upon them by their social justice woke leadership. This leads to gaps in the force that cannot be filled quickly except by calling up reservists. The next level of 'desperation' will be enacting Stop Loss which would prohibit personnel in key MOS/NEC/Designators from separating at the completion of their obligated service - not a real morale booster. The next step would be federalizing the national guard and calling up inactive reservists. The final act would be bringing back selective service, but that would likely be a political death sentence in this day and age in my view.

Each of the above escalations sends a signal to our enemies. A weakened military led by even weaker leadership - and not just military leadership.

The US will probably go the same way as the Roman Empire: hiring mercenaries to do its dirty work. A very double-edge proposition. Imagine the safety of your country being dependent on a 300'000 strong Wagner Group led by a psychopathic and greedy businessman.
