Today turned out to be a marathon of sorts. We rolled out of bed at 5am and headed to the hospital. We got home at 6pm and we’re still settling in. The good news is that the actual surgery went very well. Buoyed by past experience, my wife has been able to perform activities with much more confidence right from the start than was the case with the first knee. But, of course, there are weeks of physical therapy ahead.
I am agreeing with the rest of the comments: take care of her. Get her to her PT. Refill the ice machine when she asks, and bring her the pain medicine right on time! I have no doubt she'll be fine.
Yes, you have my---us---all of our support for your writings; our appreciations to you, sir.
And, this day, including later today at Eucharistic Adoration, my prayers are for Mrs. Wauck's
full recovery of physical strength and her continuing good cheer through all the practice efforts leading to return to well being, with many blessings upon her and her family.
I too send best wishes for your wife's speedy and full recovery. And may you be well and able to support her in every way necessary. From a grateful and fully recovered recipient of knee replacements in 2020. I am also grateful for discovering the excellent analysis and commentary you share. Thanks to both of you as I can see you depend on her support in the work you do.
Your focus is in the right place. All the best to your wife -- and to you! You two take care of the the important work of recuperation. We'll wait patiently for any posts, and meantime continue praying for a refuah shleimah.
