Thanks Mark, I know I’m a much more informed person since finding you. Your remarks about “being fed the news” are so true. Greg Gutfeld did a funny and truthful takedown response to the airhead Taylor Lorenz bemoaning the loss of the LA times and others as the death of “journalism”. Even in my early naïveté I laughed at the talking heads of the MSM bemoaning the untrustworthyness of bloggers and then podcasters who were “stealing from their rice bowl.”
I've read a bit about it. In the past I was more hands on, but now I just don't have time or energy. Do you regard MX has average user oriented? What's it based on?
I wouldn't categorize it as user oriented, it has too many options for tweaking., which apparently is what the Linux crowd is looking for in a distribution. I used Mint about eight years ago and if memory serves, it was easier to navigate. Haven't looked at it since though.
Hey Mark, would you consider updating us now and again on how you get on with whatever OS you opt for? There may be quite a few of us out here thinking about something similar. I noted that Mint latest was beta - 21.3 - last time I checked.
G'day Mark, I look forward to your 'normalized self' returning!
At least you're not trapped in the Micro$oft He77 of regularly planned obsolescence. Perhaps small comfort. I do wish you good success! Your sharing and findings consolidation is a genuine 'Must-Have' service and resource for many - particularly myself. Blessing sir! (WrH)
Yeah, what you're saying make total sense, but would entail either me learning how to maintain all that or having someone else devote a lot of time. I'm trying to be low tech, and I don't want to spend money--that's part of why I haven't monetized here. I'll have to give some thought to your suggestions. I can do a short term fix, then think about whether I should be doing more. Thanks.

I really do appreciate all your work, thank you.
Thanks! It's a privilege and a responsibility.
I've made the move! Everything looks good. The only thing left to do is to set up my RSS reader, but that can wait till tomorrow.
Take a look at MXLinux. Been using it now for about 5 years, now has vaulted to the premier spot for Linux platforms.

Good luck. Don't let it raise your blood pressure.
Good luck with the upgrade, hope everything goes smoothly!

Bon Courage in setting up the new system! Hope everything goes well on the techno side!

Ouch. Don't let Mark read this. LOL.
Hey Ray, hope you're doing well. Seems to be a day of Lettered-tyranny info - Ms. Latypova posted this regarding the CIA. Pretty good thumbnail history brought to present-day light. https://sashalatypova.substack.com/p/the-largest-intelligence-agency-that?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2 I think worth the review. Best Regards Ray! (WrH)
