Think I heard about it over the weekend on Twitter somewhere. Geroman or Russians with Attitudes perhaps. In addition, this is just basic critical thinking skills. Any coach of a professional sports team is looking for different ways to score. No different here. If the West demands of others are not shared now, let them get creative while the West stews and claims "foul"... LOL.

Mark, as someone looking for Meaning in History, I'm sure you are aware more than any of us that we are on the cusp of monumental changes in the world order. As we go about our little lives, the plates are shifting beneath us. And as you say, the MSM isn't talking about it. They probably aren't even aware of it, so out of touch are they. In hindsight, it was pretty obvious that a hard headed chessman like Putin was going to run rings around the goofs at the WEF. The latter live in their Model UN bubble and have no contact with reality. Interesting times to be alive!

The MSM is awaiting further orders from Zhou and the EU.

Took the same oath and really feel totally betrayed by our leaders in DC.

The depth of their ineptitude and duplicity at a time when we can afford neither is truly mind numbing.

I am simultaneously filled with rage, despair and an uneasy feeling that 2022 is not going to end well. Unfortunately, a lot of folks in this country do not realize that things could change overnight and we may very well wake up in a world vastly different from the one in which we went to sleep.

My only consolation is knowing that the Republican Party has our back and will go down fighting to preserve the American way of life, oh, no wait.

Gallows humor befits the times.

I was a registered republican since voting for Ronald Reagan for his 2nd term. A few months ago I changed my party affiliation to independent. I'm done with the GOP's Uniparty BS. While I don't see myself ever voting for a democrat, many so-called republicans don't deserve my vote either. Sometimes the lesser of two evils is still too evil to stomach

Yep. So many conservatives are hanging their hopes on a GOP landslide in November, or a return of Trump in 2024. Even if these things happen, I have zero trust that much will change.

My eyes bulged at 'my only consolation...' haha, 'it started out so well too'. Thankfully it was tongue in cheek. In my own country, it really is the uniparty now. It still blows my mind of the wholesale betrayal of the people and of the political class that have slyly backed the WEF agenda, knowing it will create great suffering. This is more than just money and greed though and it's not idealism that's driving this.

In a way, I'm glad it's happening at last. Now they are out in the open and we can see who the enemy is.

I, once upon a time swore an oath . . . I had no idea that the truth was that I was volunteering to "support and defend" the international rules-based order, actually LAWLESSNESS. I eagerly await the day when the rule of law, constitutional, treaty, statutory and above all God's law replaces the current regime of so called rules. And also to see Klaus and his minions decorating lampposts.

Forbes made the perceptive and extremely relevant comment that the West has rebuffed every effort by Russia since the Cold War for greater integration with the West. Now Russia is looking elsewhere. To all appearances Russia is looking for economic development, while the US is stuck on global warfare. What does the future hold?

Expand full comment

I blame the US reluctance on Britain.

Expand full comment

True. And there's a vast difference between rebuffing Russia in the 50s, 60s and even 70s when we were still a strong manufacturing power, and rebuffing them now when we have little industry left and are totally reliant on Russia for the most important natural resources and commodities. We have concentrated so much on our plans to control the Ukraine and squeeze Russia that we've forgotten that Putin has been very active too. I'm sure after 2008, and definitely by 2014, he knew what the West was up to and planned accordingly.

Your comment reminds me (again) to promote Oliver Stone's 4-part interview w Vladimir Putin. Most revealing.
