I await the return of circulating silver US coin, gold coins were long gone well before I was born 59 years 11 months ago. Phony currency, stacked deck of marked cards . . . I'm not playing that game by choice.

As Mulder would say, I want to believe, and I generally think Luongo is close if not spot on with his hypotheses on the Fed/Davos, however I can't help but wonder what the Fed is doing with pilot programs focused on ESG? What's their charter again???

https://dossier.substack.com/p/federal-reserve-announces-major-pilot

“Six of the nation's largest banks will participate in a pilot climate scenario analysis exercise designed to enhance the ability of supervisors and firms to measure and manage climate-related financial risks. Scenario analysis—in which the resilience of financial institutions is assessed under different hypothetical climate scenarios—is an emerging tool to assess climate-related financial risks, and there will be no capital or supervisory implications from the pilot."

So what side of the coin are these guys on?

Thank you for the article link. Interesting. So they're following the ECB?

I saw that this morning, but wasn't sure what it meant--if anything.

But leverage is the name of the game. What is ownership but control? And Blackrock / Vanguard have quite a bit of that.

If you have a link to what Luongo is saying about these guys, I'd love to read it. I must admit he's been right about the Fed so far.

Off the top of my unexpert head ...

He's saying that their holdings are not actually as you might think, and that a major downturn could wipe Blackrock out.

Another issue is that Blackrock has become a major owner of residential real estate. If Fink has to raise cash to meet margin calls, he's going to learn just how illiquid residential RE is when interest rates are high and potential buyers are choosing between eating, heating, and gasoline.

Right. They may already be overcommitted. I believe I read that they've stopped buying. Or scaled back considerably. If they've been buying big at the top of the market ...

Here, we're citizens of the republic--more or less. The Dems want to change that. There, they're subjects of the Crown. Nowadays, the Crown is a something like a euphemism for The State. But conceptually there's a big difference between a citizen with God-given rights and a subject of the Crown with only those rights the Crown deigns to give you for the time being.

actually, if you can just explain, I asked him last week and he replied by not really an answer -- how is the creation of SOFR and that .05% rise in the reverse repo rate related to killing the shadow banking eurodollar derivative market that undergirds the WEF/Davos crowd ops? i don't follow... if you can just unpack that?

Don't rejoin Twitter until it's under new management. In the meantime, just bookmark Luongo's feed.

As you scroll down, when Twitter throws their login pop-up just 1) click on the "Sign up" link then 2) click on the "X" in the upper left hand corner--and read on.
