First, there’s the Oligarch of Rome—easy to spot because he dresses in white. Apparently he’s received his marching orders from the other Jorge—Jorge Soros. Think I’m kidding? They were probably handed over from Jeffery Sachs, who’s practically a permanent resident in Oligarch City—and Sachs is only one of many Soros frontmen in regular circulation over there. Thus, of all the wars, in all the towns, in all the world … the Oligarch of Rome picks this one to get exercised about:
… the violent aggression against Ukraine does not stop, a senseless massacre where every day there is a repetition of slaughter and atrocities. There is no justification for this! I plead with all those involved in the international community to truly commit to ending this abhorrent war.
This week again missiles and bombs have fallen on civilians, the elderly, children, and pregnant mothers.
I can scarcely imagine the mental agony the Oligarch must be going through—supporting a Yanqui proxy war. But, anything for the Globalist Great Reset.
As for the other oligarch, I suppose it’s a bit of a stretch to call the hapless Zhou an oligarch—only in his close family circle is The Big Guy anything like an oligarch. In the Big World to call Zhou an oligarch is to invite belly laughs from real world leaders. However …
Regular readers will recall that I’ve speculated about the probable desire within the DC Establishment to replace Zhou. He served his purpose in the move to remove Trump, but his shelf life is turning out to be even shorter than the inside elite of our rulers imagined—Obama probably could have told them that. In fact, Obama did tell them that, but they didn’t listen—anything, they thought, would be better than four more years of mean tweets. The problem is, Zhou occupies a constitutional office and, if appearances of constitutional government are to be preserved, certain procedures have to be followed. That’s a do, from a procedural standpoint but, as I’ve said, there seem to be two, maybe three, things standing in the way: Dr. Jill and Kama Sutra, for sure, and possibly Pelosi.
Today Roger Kimball raises the question we’ve all been wondering about—what’s up with the NYT giving its insider seal of approval to the authenticity of Hunter’s “laptop from hell.” That’s the go ahead for anyone and everyone to talk about Zhou’s involvement with all sorts of corrupt schemes. Further, the now openly discussed likelihood that Hunter will be indicted on tax charges almost certainly means Zhou will be dragged into that case, as well. Could this possibly be some weird coincidence? Could it be that unicorns exist in some last remaining unexplored corner of the world?
That’s doubtful. Kimball teases us with his title:
Biden’s Handlers Are Preparing to Eject Him (and Kamala)
They must replace him, otherwise they themselves risk being replaced, which would be intolerable.
Unfortunately, Kimball is no more imaginative than I am. Getting rid of Zhou is a no-brainer in terms of substance. It’s the formal or procedural problems that are causing the hangup:
Why do you suppose that the New York Times has decided, finally, at this late date, to acknowledge that the story that the New York Post broke about Hunter’s laptop was true? ...
Many people seem to think that the reason that the story of Hunter’s laptop—which is just as much about Joe Biden’s perfidy as it is about Hunter’s perversion—has emerged now is because it can no longer do any serious damage. ...
But I wonder if there isn’t something else going on. The news is full not only of stories about the New York Times fessing up, sort of, about the contents of Hunter’s laptop, but also of stories about how Hunter is likely to be indicted for tax fraud. In one sense, that is not news. …
The issue is never the issue. I suspect that Joe Biden is being prepped for ejection. Exactly how it will happen I do not yet know. But he is on the threshold, or possibly has even passed the threshold, where he could appear to govern. His minders understand this. They must be the ones to replace him, otherwise they themselves risk being replaced, which would be intolerable. As I say, it’s not entirely clear yet how the defenestration will take place. Obviously, Kamala will have to be dealt with first, and she will be. Look for some ground softening stories such as the Times just served up about the laptop. They won’t be long in coming.
On the one hand, that doesn’t get us any further than when I first speculated on the issue—the same problems are still there. On the other hand, the NYT’s new stance—it’s strange new dedication to all the news—definitely puts a whole new spin on things. Bluto Barr and the rest of the DC Establishment and Deep State thought in their arrogance that the country could muddle through for four years without a Chief Executive, while they came up with some suitable—in their eyes—replacement for 2024. World events haven’t waited. Some things just can’t get done by committee, such as dealing with Russia and China—and a whole lot more.
Interesting times. I wouldn’t wish these times on anyone, but we don’t get a choice.
While we are talking about oligarchs, here is an interesting one:

https://www.dailysignal.com/2021/03/31/how-hunter-bidens-interests-overlapped-with-banned-ukrainian-oligarch/
Small world when Zelensky and Hunter have had the same patron! The skeptic in me thinks that the Biden admin now going after Kolomoisky might just have something to do with Hunter's being under investigation and a matter of leverage.
Do you suppose our proxy war with Russia just might have a purpose a bit more sinister than standing up for the freedom of the brave people and leadership of the Ukraine? Like maybe covering up American political corruption? Naw.... couldn't be. Never have seen that in the news.
The map is not the territory.
Useful for analyzing Ukraine is very useful. I’m looking at actual actions, verses the propaganda. The banning of opposition parties is significant.
I’m surprised by all the GOP types going full Ukraine fanboys. Interesting lots of them also hate Trump.
