Jonathan Turley gets a lot right in this brief thread. Do follow the link to the article. It’s bottom of the barrel time when Rob Reiner piles on, but wait—there’s Commander! Will Commander give Zhou the Secret Service treatment?
The exodus continues. Rob Reiner who just dismissed critics of Biden has called for him to step aside while adding "It’s time to stop f***ing around." At this rate, even Commander will looking for a local dog shelter for adoption.
Get a Dog: The Political and Media Establishment Turns on Biden
Washington this week is proving once again that, as President Harry Truman warned, if “you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.” President Joe Biden appears isolated and alone this weekend. He cannot even count on his dogs who are equally unpopular after the White House was accused of covering up their own dangerous demeanor.
The question is how the establishment is planning to thread this needle if it is successful in pushing Biden out. There is the federal election laws governing past contributions but also state laws on changing ballots that must be addressed.
Moreover, while this exodus is designed to leave Biden isolated and alone, it still requires him to voluntarily yield despite his repeated pledges to stay in the race.
Keep in mind that the campaign and party messed up with the scheduling of the convention. It must hold an early virtual convention vote in order to meet a deadline in Ohio to get on that ballot. Time is, therefore, of the essence. That explains the rapid collapse of support.
The virtual feeding frenzy surrounding Zhou is clearly fed by the realization that, as Turley says, time is of the essence. This was never going to be a cakewalk, but the added time pressure means that it may not be practical to 25 Zhou. They need him to leave voluntarily, and so the piling on.
But what if Zhou toughs it out? Here’s Turley’s prediction—it seems pretty solid:
The prospect of Democrat party defeat is what has caused the media to turn on a dime. There is little Biden can do to change perceptions at this point. The only questions now are how much pressure on him will build, and whether he can withstand it.
Additional House members may come out against him, and Senators may start to as well. More donors may boycott his campaign and those of Democrats more generally. Obama and Clinton may stay silent or even speak out. And the intelligence and law enforcement community may threaten him behind the scenes with exposure of his decades of grifting.
By a certain time, if he hasn’t folded, the pressure will subside, and Democrats will salvage what they can and look to 2026 and 2028 to recover. I suspect if he is still running by next Sunday the die will have been cast.
Joe calls in to say he's still "running"

When you say pressure on Biden, you’re talking Dr Jill and the crackhead, right? I don’t think the big guy can even count his 10% anymore.
