Merrick Garland is disturbed that, according to him, there has been a spike in in “threats of violence against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff”. Accordingly, the FBI is being asked to spearhead a Departmental offensive against this bad behavior by parents. You see, DoJ is “steadfast in its commitment to protect all people in the United States from violence, threats of violence, and other forms of intimidation or harassment.”
This statement of steadfast commitment would be more convincing but for 2020. No word on the Department’s steadfast commitment to protecting students from intimidation and harassment by school administrators, board members, teachers in staff in the students’ exercise of their First Amendment rights.
My prediction: This is going to anger a lot of parents.
I had the same thought this morning as Andrea Widburg contrasting the administration’s treatment of the harassment of Senator Sinema, vs parents. Similar to blm vs “insurrectionists”. Or Vindaman vs that Marine Colonel now in the brig. Amazing the double standards.
