Poll: Majority of Liberal and Black Voters Want Biden to Remain as Nominee
That’s according to CBS News quoting a YouGov poll:
“After the debate, some Democratic officials reportedly said Joe Biden should step aside as the Democratic Party’s nominee for president in 2024,” said the question asked in the YouGov poll, conducted for CBS News. “Do you think Joe Biden should step aside as the nominee and give another Democrat a chance to run, or should Biden continue running as the nominee?”
Among liberals, only 48% said Biden should step aside, while a majority (52%) said he should continue running.
An even stronger majority of Black voters, 59%, said Biden should continue running as the Democrat presidential nominee.
While a majority of voters overall (56%) said Biden should step aside, it was Democrat voters, fueled largely by Black voters, that voted for the Biden-Harris ticket during this year’s Democrat U.S. Presidential primaries.
With Democrat Party insiders reportedly plotting to dump Biden from the ticket, this poll shows those insiders risk alienating the will of the majority of their voting base.
This is almost certainly only the first part of the plan. Reportedly, the plan is for an “open” convention, with delegates presented with four choices, with super delegates (party insiders) sitting out the first round. Why? Because with four choices it’s almost certain that no one wins outright. That preserves a fig leaf of democratic procedure, a nod to primary voters. But then the super delegates come back in.
Hildabeast is plotting a comeback, but I find it difficult in the extreme to believe that the Obama wing will go along with that. La Michelle is said to already be directing Kama Sutra’s fundraising behind the scenes. KS has always been a favorite with Barry and la Michelle, which speaks volumes. Gruesome and Whitmer?
