CORRECTED: Whoa! About That "Whistleblower"
So now we know, via GP , what that ODNI "whistleblower" thing was all about. As usual, it was about trying to set Trump up, alleging "serious misconduct," to set up a supposed crisis. This comes in the wake of Trump firing Dan Coats and Sue Gordon and trying to take control of his own executive branch. GP explains:
The whistleblower complaint was filed last month shortly after Maquire was chosen to be acting DNI Chief.
Joseph Maguire refused to comply with Schiff’s September 17 deadline and will not testify this week or hand over the whistleblower complaint, prompting a standoff with Congress.
Wednesday night the Deep State fanned the flames by leaking to the Washington Post ahead of Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson’s closed-door testimony about the whistleblower complaint scheduled for Thursday.
According to two former US officials familiar with the matter, Trump’s communications with a foreign leader are a part of the whistleblower complaint that spawned the tense standoff.
CNN analyst, former CIA official and Trump hater Phil Mudd even jumped to Trump’s defense.
Mudd blasted the unidentified ‘whistleblower’ in the intel community and called him a “snitch.”
“Boy, I’m about ready to blow a gasket,” Mudd told CNN’s Chris Cuomo about the whistleblower. “He [Trump] can say what he wants, Chris.”
“I am ticked off. This is completely inappropriate. The Congress should not be asking the intel guys to go snitch on the president,” Mudd added.
Listen to Mudd. This is a guy who's really P. O.-ed:
This is a perfect illustration of what Trump is up against within his own adminstration. It's the Deep State allied with Democrats in Congress against the POTUS, attacking the Executive Branch.
As I've said many times in the past, this is what Bill Barr is really all about. Protecting the Executive Branch.
CORRECTION: I originally wrote "Gina Haspel." Thanks to a friend who pointed out that I should've written "Sue Gordon" as one of the ousted Deep Staters. Haspel is still "on the job."
The same friend pointed out that the same reporting duo at the WaPo--Miller and Nakashima--get most of the leaks that form the basis of most anti-Trump ops. Seamless cooperation between the the political and media branches of the established Resistance.
UPDATE: Reports at the NYT and ABC confirm what Mudd is talking about. This was not a "whistleblower" at all. It was someone seeking to cause controversey by releasing foreign policy information under cover of the false claim of being a whistleblower revealing wrongdoing . A policy dispute is not wrongdoing.
