Do you get the sense that things are somehow coming apart, and we don’t know exactly where it’s all heading? Here in the US, in the middle of WW3, we see that a hit on Zhou has clearly been unleashed—the fact that the MSM has a green light to go after him is proof positive that something big is going on. What it is, we still can’t be sure. In the meantime, economic signs are looking ominous for this coming year.
Turmoil in NATO is also starting to bubble over. The UK and Poland remain steadfast poodles of the US, but other countries are clearly asking, Can we just let NATO lose this war and be done with it? Most significantly, Germany appears to be in that camp, and the German public is increasingly unhappy with the US, UK, and Polish pressure—German tanks in Ukraine is a really bad look, for those remaining few with some knowledge of history. And then there’s George Soros skipping Davos to prepare for, presumably, a ringing call for more bigger war on Russia at the Munich Security Conference. Right. A financier addressing the MSC.
Russia, on the other hand, appears to have shifted to the offensive and its initiatives are gaining momentum. The fact that its forces in the south have initiated probing attacks along the Zaporozhian front (as we’ve discussed recently) is undoubtedly a sign of more to come. Is this why the US is talking about escalating in ways that make no sense from a strictly military perspective? That’s been the big buzz for the last few days, under the surface: The US is going to help Ukraine to launch much larger strikes against Russia’s Crimea territory:
This is a certifiably Bad Idea, and much of the linked article is utter nonsense—for example, the idea that a handful of HIMARS and 50 Bradleys would somehow allow Ukraine to launch any sort of credible offensive is a joke. Follow the link to read the takedown. However, it’s worth quoting the rationale:
The US thinking is that Crimea needs to be under threat to give Ukraine leverage for any future negotiations.
For a discussion of just how crazy this could get, see Larry Johnson:
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that a serious attack on Russian territory would have the opposite effect from driving Russia to negotiate. In fact, Russia has now ruled out negotiating with Ukraine—since Ukraine isn’t the actual combatant country in this war, merely a proxy for the US. My own suspicion for the true rationale behind these escalating provocations is that they have basically nothing at all to do with negotiations—at least not at this point. My suspicion is that the hope is to bait Putin into abandoning Russia’s war of attrition and instead launching an ill considered full frontal offensive that would result in heavy Russian casualties—even if such an offensive would likely be successful.
Consider all the above in this context: The US now appears to realize that time is on Russia’s side:
The reality, of course, is that the flow of weapons has been drying up for many months, as actual delivery of announced aid is usually as much as six months in the future. Moreover, at the rate Ukrainian losses are mounting (the German BND is said to be “alarmed”) “public support for the war in the US” will evaporate well before August. We shall see.
The telling fact in all this is that all this reckless strategizing is taking place with no substantive push back from our elected representatives. Where are the vaunted “principled conservatives”? The abdication of Congress from any sort of oversight over US war-making is a sure sign of the terminal decadence of the American republican. What will replace this decadent regime can only be a matter for speculation.
Perhaps related to the turmoil in what we tend to think of as “domestic” politics, the annual Davos meeting is starting to look like a major fail. The absence of Soros is one indicator, as also the lack of actual major world figures—Putin and Xi, for example. Interestingly, two major NY-and-the-world banksters who absented themselves from Davos in the recent past did show up. They proceeded to pour copious amounts of cold water on the proceedings:
Take that, Klaus, Kerry, and Algore!
Yeah, interestingly, re oil being here for 50 years …
The Biden Administration Finally Admits Its Mistake In Canceling The Keystone XL Pipeline
Well, Dimon did say that Zhou isn’t part of the cure for what ails America. But, then, what part of the Zhou regime’s economic policies has done anything for US standing in the world?
Tom Luongo, in his latest article, analyzes what he insists is “Peak Davos”, terming Davos 2023 the Great Reset’s graveyard:
It’s a longish, interesting article, but what I want to highlight here is Luongo’s list of recent news stories that chronicle the continuing decline of US influence in the world as well as the decline of Davos’ standing. I originally posited an understanding by the US ruling elite that the US is facing an existential crisis as the basis for the concerted push to send Zhou back to beach in Delaware. Whether that’s the case I can’t say for sure, but Luongo’s list certainly places that scenario in stark relief, if we take into consideration that the Zhou regime has been closely aligned to the Globalist agenda:
We’re well past the point of Peak Davos that’s for sure. When the guest list for this year was leaked I found it fascinating that many who’ve skipped it in the past would be there – US bank CEOs like JP Morgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon. There were just as many who have gone previously to plead for sanity – Putin and Xi Jinping — didn’t even phone it in.
It has been a fascinating week of announcements and headlines that paint a very ugly picture for Davos’ future. When you take them (and their timing) into full context it should be obvious where this is headed.
Here’s a partial list of the headlines from this week:
But the clincher is this headline from The Guardian.
Most of these would be interesting at any time but that they all occurred while Davos 2023 was happening is mind-boggling. And to think that so many of the attendees there are still walking around as if the future was already written in their favor is equally mind-boggling.
I’m not about to speculate further about what’s really goin on there except to say that if feels like something has fundamentally changed, likely for the better.
Interesting times!
Regarding the decline of Davos, here’s a recent quip from Michael Shellenberger’s Substack, “Public”
“A week ago, journalists were writing excitedly about attending the World Economic Forum conference in Davos. Now, they’re reporting that: the event skyrocketed demand for prostitutes; not a single A-list celebrity, billionaire, or head of state attended; and ‘Klaus Schwab will stay in office until he dies.’
By this time next year, Davos will be seen as a reputational risk to politicians, celebrities, and CEOs alike.
Most of the credit for killing Davos goes to Russell Brand and Glenn Beck, who have criticized WEF from the Left and the Right for years.”
Good summary, Mark. There are so many outliers at present that make freedom lovers ask, "If the globalists are winning, why is this happening?" The only event you missed out is the vaccine. The truth seems to be breaking through at last. Maybe we'll see some justice for that in 2023.
