What is the West’s most lethal most dangerous weapon?
It is not even something we think about as a weapon. It is not a missile. It is not a ship. It is not an airplane.
The West’s strategic and most danger dangerous weapon is the lie.
…
This is the centerpiece of western identity. The lie, the lie of freedom, the lie of democracy, the lie of prosperity, the lie of equality, the lie of seeking peace, the lie of diplomacy, the lie of feminism, the lie of green energy and so on and so on and so on and so on and so on. It is endless.
We live in a world made completely of lies. No part of the world that we see in the west and anywhere that’s influenced by the west is true. No part
As observers of the Ukraine War and the Iran-Israel missile exchanges have long suspected, tactical lying is a known part of U.S. military doctrine:
Going back to the gold price, here's an excerpt from Vince Lanci on Goldfix:
Gold selling is mechanical, not fundamental: The decline is driven by forced liquidation of crowded longs (leveraged de-dollarization trades), particularly from Middle Eastern and macro players, rather than a change in the underlying bullish thesis.
Dollar squeeze is the trigger: A sudden need for dollar liquidity (linked to war and disrupted cash flows) is forcing unwinds of “short USD / long gold” positioning, accelerating downside in gold and silver simultaneously.
Positioning reset still incomplete: Gold is part of a broader unwind of crowded trades; the correction persists until the sequence completes, including eventual rollover in oil and the US dollar, which would re-enable a bid in gold.
Long-term thesis remains intact: The selloff is framed as excess being cleared (“fluff” removal); policy response (rate cuts / liquidity injection) is expected to follow, setting up a renewed advance in precious metals once liquidation pressure ends.
As of September 30, 2025, the US had $6 trillion in assets and $48 trillion in liabilities. Add in the unfunded liabilities social insurance programs (Social Security, Medicare) and the liabilities jump up to $136 trillion (5x annual US GDP). To put that in perspective, it's like having $60,600 of assets and liabilities of $1.4 billion. Good luck digging out of that financial deficit!
Wow this guy is King of the Blowhards. Trump's been talking all day, adding to his story about 'negotiating with Iran...but shhh it's a secret.' He said that 'Iran asked for a deal, and that when the deal is set, the US will just go in and take their uranium out.' And the Sponge People are sucking all of this up~headlines and stories abound.
Crucial uses for helium "run through semiconductor clean rooms in South Korea and Taiwan, through MRI suites from São Paulo to Seoul, through rocket assembly buildings in Florida and Kourou, and through industrial gas terminals from Texas to Tianjin. In that circuitry, Qatar’s role as the world’s second-largest helium producer, supplying roughly one third of global volumes before the war, now looks less like an economic success story and more like a carefully laid trap."

The above may be true for helium, but MoonofAlabama pointed to another aspect of the destruction of oil and gas fields, based on a 3-hour Richard Medhurst podcast: Medhurst argued that USA is systematically establishing itself as sole, or dominant, supplier of energy to the world. USIsrael create provocations, like the destruction of Pars and of Qatar, with the knowledge that Iran would retaliate in kind. That is, Iran is doing Israel and the US's dirty work in destroying all energy sources except those the US controls.

Thank you very much, Clyde, for clarifying the information spinning inside my mind, and for providing these links. The substack article I've now saved to read later today.
Howard Lutnik set up his sons to reap the fortunes from tariffs' monetary must-payback as a consequence of the Supreme Court's rejection of their constitutional legality. The sons are running Canter Fitzgerald, oh so similar to Eric and Don Jr. running the Trump Organization. Since Lutnik already dropped his "American nation" good helper mask by admitting under oath to Congress that he indeed knew Epstein far better than as a happenstance neighbor. That's why I bet on Lutnik as one culprit of the national wealth of USA. Jared Kushner publicly plays an enigma, but he is a chaos agent of and for Israel. I'm seeing the oil price shock, the bond market rising all while I also see the price of gold tumbling. I don't understand this. To my mind I would expect the price of gold to be accelerating, but it isn't. Why?
Didn't watch Medhurst yesterday -- 3 hours, too long.
But Moon of Alabama drew attention to his argument so I'm listening now: while Trump is distracting the world with crazy, US is systematically monopolizing the world's oil and LNG.
LNG is now more valuable than gold. That Club Carlin keeps talking about -- they are selling gold to by LNG: Venture Global, Cheniere energy, Exxon mobile, Conoco, Chevron, Williams, Marathon
all reaching phenomenal highs.
Thinking at this point in Medhurst's program, that kinetic action may come to US homeland sooner? later?
How long until rest of world gets sufficiently fed up to act upon it?
Good points. If the administration was smart they would guarantee purchases at day $70, break even for shake, to encourage more shale production. There is a fear of losses in shale industry if prices fall. It happened before.
Other countries can do more in energy, but green politics prevents it.
A commodities trader I know believes there's a growing disconnect (intentional--for later discovery only after everything else blows up) between paper and physical gold, and the paper is being pushed out as a market manipulation. She cites that physical-gold-oriented markets like Shanghai hold their pricing tightly when gold markets flushed with additional paper drive the average way down. Not expert enough to confirm, but sounds plausible in light of manipulation going on everywhere else.
A few factors (caveat, not an expert, just a very interested investor).
There's leverage in precious metals, and that gets flushed out easily when prices drop.
There's leverage everywhere else, so when people get margin calls on dropping markets (i.e. they need to provide additional cash immediately or their leveraged positions get forced close within the day), they have to sell what's liquid, and gold is. Which triggers the above.
Precious metals markets are heavily manipulated, as price discovery still lays with the western exchanges, and those are paper markets, so you can easily dump futures onto them to suppress them. Meanwhile, we have consistent, historical outflows of physical. Big banks can use redemptions on some of the ETFs to move physical gold off market "in the shadows". Silver goes somewhere by the truckload.
My theory what's happening is a combination of all of the above. We had the crypto bros hitting metals with leverage when their play money dumped recently, and price discovery is just detached from the real thing. Exemplified by the silver spread between e.g. London and Shanghai.
I'm personally stacking physical for long-term purchasing power preservation, and I've got ETFs and mining shares to capture the market moves. That's about 30% of my portfolio, another 30% cash, 10% bonds and 30% shares (not investment advice, just my situation).
So right now, we're in a massively volatile phase while people try to meme-stock trade metals and miners, central banks buy, big banks manipulate and China and India grab anything physical that they can.
Which means if you look for long-term purchasing power preservation, you simply keep buying physical on a schedule. If you look to make money quick, you need to trade it more like Bitcoin at the moment, and be very active. If you want to invest over the medium term for dollar appreciation, put in a mix, don't over-invest so you're not forced out by volatility.
And please don't do anything only based on what I'm saying here. Not financial advice etc.
If you want to go down the rabbit hole, I recommend listening to people like Rick Rule, Peter Schiff, Stephanie Pomboy, Andy Schectman, "Bald Guy Money" on YT, Sean Foo and generally Adam Taggart's interviews for a broad perspective.
Thanks for the excellent comment (as usual), Alex. Great point about leverage being everywhere, and the margin calls. Just as an example, the private credit liquidity squeeze has illustrated your point well: When people can't get the cash they need from one asset (because it is illiquid or "semi-liquid") they will sell an asset that IS liquid, such as Gold.
I think one other factor affecting Gold is inflation expectations (as indicated by bond yields rising). A fair amount of inflation is now already "baked in" from the oil shock. The only questions are how bad and how long it will be. Gold is negatively impacted by inflation and rising (or not falling) Fed Funds rate.
In the longer term, the Fed will have to resume printing to address the coming stagflation; at that point Gold will take off again.
Thanks, much appreciated. The inflation one is actually tricky. Theoretically, gold should act as a hedge against inflation, but what's happening is the real interest rate expectation, and liquidity squeeze, that's hurting gold as a non-interest-bearing asset. The market seems to be expecting the Fed to raise rates to combat inflation, leading to higher real rates on the short end. I doubt that, since the Fed is trapped, and will have to choose between inflation and the labour market. Imo they'll choose labour, since there'll also be political pressure to cut, although this might happen after the midterms, as inflation is more immediate.
I'm long gold, but in the near term, there's volatility, and potential downside. If I was actively trading, I'd be hedging against that, but I've got the liquidity to sit it out while I focus on other things, and actually get more for my stack when prices go down.
Yes, exactly, and well put. I didn't make that distinction between inflation and interest rates clear. You are right, normally Gold can be expected to be a hedge against inflation. As to your other points, no one can predict the future or the timing but I agree with your sentiments generally. Thanks!
This guy brilliantly summarises the whole situation. Not going to sell into his prediction, since I don't have the TA skills to time that, but sounds reasonable.
NFO's comment seems to make sense to someone (me) who basically does not know what he's talking about: some markets -- likely Western/Wall Street -- are selling **paper ** gold.
Less than a month ago Perth mint halted sales of physical metal -- their inventory was too low; Royal Mint (England) did something similar. Supply of physical metal being low should mean prices rise. There's a game afoot.
PS Iranian women buy gold the way Imelda Marcos bought shoes.
Just as Trump withdraws threats to bomb Iranian power stations, Israel starts bombing Iranian infrastructure.
Israel wants this war to go on for as long as possible to set back Iran decades, regardless of the cost to regional stability, global markets - and the American people
Yes, Parsi states a crucial point, and one I wished the Judge had brought up with his eminent guests yesterday (Crooke, Johnson, McGovern, Sachs), ie, “How do Israel’s objectives differ from those of Trump at this time?” Any daylight, or disagreement, or is it still the demonic duo in pursuit of armadeggon - the global economy and civilian lives be dam—-?
Regarding the contention (Berletic, Wilkerson at times) that Israel is the proxy, as opposed to the view that US foreign policy is hostage to Jewish Nationalism I would say this. It's true that Israel, at times, acts at the persuasion of the US--but that happens only when Israeli and Jewish Nationalist interests conform with US interests or when the US interest is indifferent to them.
In contrast, there are many, MANY, instances of Israel and Jewish Nationalists acting directly against US interests. When that happens, Israeli and Jewish Nationalist interests never suffer as a result--Pollard spending time in jail doesn't even count as a slap on the wrist in the big scheme of things. So, I'm thinking not only of the continual Israeli espionage against the US, the one sided tech and arms deals, the transfer of US military tech to China by Israel, and on--and on and on--but also the numerous wars instigated by Jewish Nationalist and Israeli interests, past and present. The guiding hand is the same in all of these.
iirc, Napolitano played a clip of Netanyahu saying that Iran is bombing Jerusalem, near AlAqsa mosque. Alastair Crooke said, That's impossible, for Islamic state; perhaps Israel planning to attack the mosque?
Simultaneously, "Dr Alsharija, managing director of Gulf Arab States Religious Education Center, responded to Ghalibaf with the threat to destroy three major mosques/Islamic sites in Iran --
The mosque in Isfahan, Masjed-e Jame, is a UNESCO heritage site.
The other two mosques are not UNESCO sites, although the Imam Reza shrine at Mashad has been on the UNESCO "tentative" list since 2017
Months before this hot war started, Hogsbreath said publicly that Iran's heritage sites would be destroyed. This would be a crime against civilization, but an entity like Hogsbreath who thinks ink in his skin is art would have no concept of the ancient beauty and skill represented in those buildings.
Back to the Napolitano-Crooke comments: Napolitano said that for Muslims to attack the Mosque in Jerusalem would be like Catholics attacking St. Peter's Basilica.
Fact is, American 'Christians' DID attack the Vatican in WWII. American 'Christians' did bomb to rubble the ancient Benedictine monastery at Monte Cassino.
So don't put anything past minds infected with hate, raised on the yeast of zionism.
EDIT/PS: I see Twitter has removed the Tweet that showed the tweet purportedly from "Dr Alsharija." It showed a three-part photo: images of three mosques in Iran, each with a Red X across it.
The only ones interested in destruction of the mosque are the CZs like Hagee and Huckabibi. Then the third Jewish temple can be rebuilt in its place and the red heifer can be readied for the sacrifices. All in preparation for Iran (Gog/Magog) to invade the blessed Israel. They’ve got it all figured out. And they will be raptured before the slaughter of one-third of all Jews.
"American 'Christians' did bomb to rubble the ancient Benedictine monastery at Monte Cassino."
Were they "real" Christians or the fake CZ's? The early USA was built upon the radical protestant sects so yes,a lot of hate resides in those chosen protestants of Zion.
"Approximately 17 to 20 or more U.S. presidents have been identified as having Scots-Irish (Ulster-Scots) ancestry. These presidents, including Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, and Woodrow Wilson, trace their roots to Scottish Protestants who migrated to Northern Ireland before settling in America." Being from both Scots protestant and Scots Irish stock, the hatred of Catholics and vice versa was the norm rather than from radical sects.
Yes, you are correct, Malcom the Scots-Irish were likely followers of some form of Calvinism or it's many other radical offshoots. I am quite familiar with the inter-Christianity hatreds that took place in what was once Christendom now Europe. These were the original settlers who either fled prosecution for their radical view, but not by Catholics by other protestants. They brought their prejudices to this land as they settled and spread, Anti-Catholicism was the first toxic prejudice and remains in place today especially among the CZ's and the leftist progressives.
While Israel has its own motives, Trump finds it useful to offload blame on them for selected actions that he actually supports. For example, the South Pars attack. Everything he says these days is gaslighting, regardless.
Hassanein spent some time at Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), another name for Jewish Nationalist (Inc).
Head's too congested to figure out how that piece of the puzzle fits with Berletic's caution that Joe Kent's resignation might not be all that it seems; and with Nick Fuente's tinfoil analysis that Vance is distancing himself from the Iran war while trying to remain in Trump's good graces, preparatory to presidential run, while also assembling his team.
Don't forget: Vance is Peter Thiel's man. He has displayed qualities of Never Trump; a hard-core zionist, whatever it takes to get ??

all reaching phenomenal highs.

That was 3 whole days ago.
Gold fell another $110 today.

Wake me when Iran de-hydrates Israel, the plucky start-up nation that made the desert bloom.

Step 1 in deescalation must be restraining the Israelis, otherwise all efforts to negotiate will follow this pattern:
POTUS publicly announces deescalation.
Israel takes major strikes to destroy the negotiations & in turn weaken our ability to negotiate.
The war accelerates.
I see you just answered my above question!
To me the accounting doesn't admit of any doubt.
iirc, Napolitano played a clip of Netanyahu saying that Iran is bombing Jerusalem, near AlAqsa mosque. Alastair Crooke said, That's impossible, for Islamic state; perhaps Israel planning to attack the mosque?
Simultaneously, "Dr Alsharija, managing director of Gulf Arab States Religious Education Center, responded to Ghalibaf with the threat to destroy three major mosques/Islamic sites in Iran --
in Isfehan, Mashad, and Qom (I think)
https://x.com/jalovemila/status/2035676277256896744?s=20

Trump is lying because markets just opened
Meanwhile, his Israeli masters are attacking energy infrastructure
While Israel has its own motives, Trump finds it useful to offload blame on them for selected actions that he actually supports. For example, the South Pars attack. Everything he says these days is gaslighting, regardless.
Very surprised not to hear any of Napolitano's crew connected dots such as,
"Iran bombs Arab oil facilities"
"Israel bombs Arab oil facilities"
"Israel bombs Iranian oil facilities"
"Israel claims control of Gaza gas and all region's oil facilities. Last man standing."
A plea from an absolute nobody to Iran: Make friends with your Arab neighbors.

VP Vance's special adviser for the Middle East, Wesam H. Hassanein, leaves role for the private sector.
Revolving door, more likely
