If you find this “reasoning” plausible … you are probably a Zionist:
That Jews habitually murdered gentile children for blood with which to make Passover matzoh, was a popular superstition throughout Britain and Europe in the middle ages.
Ask wherein the appeal of this libel lies and the answer has to be the necessity for Christians not just to defame Jews and make a clear distinction between Old and New Testament morality, but to set the Jews apart from the entire human family; depraved, accomplices of the devil. And, of course, to justify hunting them down and massacring them.
Therefore …
Reporting the genocide being perpetrated by Zionists against the unfortunate inhabitants of Gaza—and now the nightly massacres in Lebanon—makes you a Blood Libelist.
Wait a minute—”to set the Jews apart from the entire human family”? What else does it mean for a given group to refer to itself as The Chosen People?
At any rate, I didn’t make that up. It’s the unvarnished purport of an article that has appeared in The Guardian—which has to tell you a lot about the influence of the Zionist Lobby in the UK:
Tales of infanticide have stoked hatred of Jews for centuries. They echo still today
A year after the 7 October attack, the myth of ‘blood libel’ persists in the media coverage of Gaza violence
Jacobson makes no attempt at all to refute the mountains of evidence for direct and deliberate massacre and ethnic cleansing that has been taking place in Gaza and is now being extended into Lebanon. It’s almost as if Israel is channelling Moshe Dayan:
Or Naftali Bennett, as quoted by Glenn Greenwald:
'What we really need to do now, what we intend to do now, is to show the region that there are no limits on what we're willing to do. No one can stop us. There's nothing anyone can do to stop us, and there are no moral or ethical limits that we will observe in order to defend ourselves, and what we intend to do is to put the fear of God--or the fear of Jews, is how he described it--into the hearts and minds of every Arab in the region that they will remember for generations and that they will be too afraid to ever again oppose us or attack us.'
Rather than addressing the irrefutable evidence—such as the testimony of American nurses and doctors (including Jewish American Mark Perlmutter)—and the clearly stated intentions of top Israeli officials, Jacobson responds with what amounts to a string of rhetorical questions:
Ask how Israel is able to target innocent children with such deadly accuracy and no one can tell you. Ask why they would want to target innocent children and make themselves despised among the nations of the Earth and no one can tell you that either. Hate on this scale seeks no rational explanation. Hate feeds off the superstitions that fed it last time round.
Anyone who reports on this genocide is simply propagating Jew Hatred—no less than that. So just stop reporting the facts. Who are you going to believe, Howard Jacobson or your lying eyes? Again, the fact that The Guardian would actually publish such an article speaks volumes about … something or other. And yet Zionists have been propagating unspeakable lies—Blood Libels—about Palestinians, to justify genocide:
Savvas Papadopoulos @Savvas98374297
Interestingly, and predictably, the same libel was used against Palestinians ("beheaded babies").
Go figure. And the Blood Libel against Palestinians—as well as against anyone who reported on the genocide against Gaza—was amplified by a megaphone far larger than any of the actual reporting Jacobson whines about.
There’s an extended commentary on this here.
