The changes of posture we’re seeing from the Prog Left with regard to the Covid Regime are becoming dizzying. On the one hand we have the Blue cities instituting draconian mandates—not just BS masks but injection mandates and passes as well. We’re also seeing the hard left government teachers walking out of mostly minority schools again.
On the other hand, it increasingly appears that the Dems have finally started to internalize the polling that’s been out there for months. Much as they wanted to institute the Great Reset through the subterfuge of the Covid Regime, they’re finally realizing that this is a huge political loser for them—a much bigger loser than the BS J6 narrative is a winner. As a result they’re spinning in tight circles looking for winning issues—threatened anti-trust action against Big Meat to shut down inflation is only the latest trial balloon. There’s all sorts of talk of relaxing mandates, too. Remarkably, all this is happening just days before the Zhou regime will try to save their mandates, arguing before what appears to be a clearly skeptical SCOTUS on Friday.
My take? Obviously I’m glad to see any kind of speed bump in the path of the rush to the Great Reset. Exiting from the Covid Regime will necessarily put that charge to authoritarianism on hold. Further, if the SCOTUS comes through for us with regard to the Administrative State cases that they’ll be deciding this term, that could be more than a speed bump—it could be more like a broom handle through the spokes of the Administrative State’s bicycle wheels. Which tells you a lot about how dire political prospects are for the Left right now—they see an exit from the Covid Regime as the only alternative to losing power completely.
However, will that really allow them to overcome the train wreck that they’ve turned this country into? The inflation? A political war of words on Big Meat isn’t going to do the trick, there. The internet is full of stories, if you care to look, about how the supply line crisis is only getting worse. The border crisis? Poll after poll shows that this remains a huge issue for large majorities. Crime? That’s another huge issue working against the Dems, and it’s not going away. All of these issues are eating into the Dem base at the worst time possible—for them.
So, what are the latest signs of an attempted exit from the Covid Regime?
Perhaps the most striking one is outlined in this article at American Greatness:
Cruz and Codevilla Decode Fauci’s COVID Capers
The late, great Angelo Codevilla was all over it from the start.
The article begins with Tony Fauci’s great flash of insight:
“If a child goes into the hospital,” Dr. Anthony Fauci said last week, “they automatically get tested for COVID and they get counted as a COVID-hospitalized individual, when, in fact, they may go in for a broken leg or appendicitis or something like that. So it’s overcounting the number of children who are, quote, hospitalized with COVID as opposed to because of COVID.”
As if he just realized that!
Ted Cruz was quick to tweet in response to this incredibly brazen bit of disingenuousness. And Cruz clearly saw this as a sign of political change in the wind—which it was:
“Now Fauci says this? Is this because pandemic politics have changed for the Biden admin?”
What other reason could there possibly have been for this Fauci about face—if not politics?
It’s a nice article, and I particularly enjoyed this bit—although it shows a remarkable lack of insight on Codevilla’s part:
In 2020, doctors had been pressured “to label as COVID any set of symptoms that looked like it.”
Uh, how was this “pressure” exerted? Follow the money, as usual. Covid Regime: Take our extra money for Covid cases and treatments and deaths, or you’ll be in big trouble!
Boy, that was a tough sell, wasn’t it?
Along very similar lines, we also have this article at Fox. The Hochul woman in New York is getting religion. I guess the lesson, for those who haven’t already learned it, is: Never trust a politician who says, "I just want to always be honest” with their subjects:
NY makes major adjustment to COVID hospitalization reporting during omicron surge
Gov. Hochul says she wants to 'always be honest with New Yorkers about how bad this is'
As part of this new policy of always being honest it turns out Hochul wants New Yorkers to believe that she’s been spending her time in the governor’s office making random phone calls to hospitals. I’m not kidding:
Hochul said she made random calls to a handful of hospital leaders about patient intake reporting and found 20%-to-50% differences in patients being treated for COVID versus patients being treated for other ailments and also testing positive.
Like Tony, apparently, she only just learned of this basic distinction. Do you believe that? Well, New Yorkers also seem inclined to accept the dismissal of any serious outcomes for Cuomo’s war on the nursing home residents, so apparently they’ll believe just about anything.
Still, the point remains. Coming right on the heels of Hochul’s tough mandate talk, this looks exactly like a spin move preparatory to exiting the Covid Regime.
Ramifications be ramifying. If fear is the tool they are trying use to control this situation they have a big problem. When the dam of fear breaks, good luck controlling anything. Reap the whirlwind? We are about to experience.

"Will that really allow them to overcome the train wreck that they’ve turned this country into?" No. The negative consequences of the policies the Dems have supported are evident now and will last decades. The questions now are how many people will wake up to the damage done and who did it and when? How long lasting is Dr. Malone's mass formation psychosis? Can we still cut this thing off at the pass or is it already too late?
What will happen with the left after they flee COVID? Although I don't look good in tin foil and have NO love for Glenn Beck, it seems this is worth considering: https://www.glennbeck.com/radio/great-reset-hints-at-new-digital-international-currency.
There has been a lot of chatter about them trying to bring down the financial system and currencies by 2026. The best argument for this "conspiracy theory" is the opportunity they think it might provide for them to subsequently impose a social credit system. However, a lot can happen in the mean time to derail this horrific effort.
What we do know for certain is that evil minds are working and they will persist, regardless of U.S. political party politics. And oh BTW never trust McConnell or McCarthy (among others).
