BREAKING: Iran is demanding a fee of 7% on all commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with Chinese and Russian vessels exempt from the fee, while Oman is discussing smaller fees of around 3% and the US wants no fees at all, per Reuters and an Iranian source.
A senior Iranian official says the proposed deal gives Iran control over ships entering the Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz, and is "one of the biggest concessions yet to Iran," meaning "the war launched by the United States and Israel in February had resulted in a major shift in the balance of regional power in Tehran's favour."
Another Iranian source however cautions that "the devil is in the details" and that "a single tweet from Trump could cause the whole thing to collapse."
Wake up. Smell the coffee. Attacking Iran made no sense. We had no chance of subduing that country exclusively with air and missile power. Our sanctions failed. I believe Danny Davis will be right because Trump's signature on any deal is as bad as his lying word. There is no way Trump can keep from looking like a loser except in the minds of the shoe-size IQ crowd. IMO Joe Kent is also correct is his assessment that Americans want this over and don't care if we just walk away.
Any deal will have to solve what I call the "Zionist override dilemma". As things stand now, the Israelis will literally blow up any deal before the ink is dry. A major change in character is often preceded by brokenness which generates repentance and humility. I see no evidence that Trump has been broken. He is turning more vile and nasty and telling more lies and blaming others for his failures.
He will not be able to agree to a deal. He can neither withdraw nor fully engage. It’s a sight to behold. I have very little sympathy unless he repents. This is the same man who botched the Epstein files release and destroyed those who opposed him. He chaotically jammed tariffs down everyone’s throats, threatened Greenland and Cuba and invaded Venezuela. And now with Iran he has entered a fight he can’t win.
You reap what you sow - eventually. And many of those not involved suffer too.
Manul, you certainly know the score. We think of our boys being unnecessarily put in harms way. We reflect of his pathological lying. We see his pilfering billions of dollars. There's common knowledge oscillating around the topic of being an Israeli-Firster. Sadness hits when watching films on his indiscriminating bombing and (2) the types of crime in his warfare. The sea of facts relating to complicity seen from video horrors in Gaza is beyond description. The anti-American congress being a tool of the nemesis reminds one of the Polish parliament just before the partitions. The continuing conflict -while noting the hopelessness- reminds one of the remaining MAGA. They're like the AH followers making excuses for continuing the unwinnable war, after the failed 4/1944 assassination attempt. With nearly the entire government apparatus against the American dream, principles and citizenry, will the remaining MAGA's "greatest Prez of all time" slip his way into a 2028 term? After all, money talks... thanks for your thoughts, Mr. Manual.

God bless you, Manul, for what you've written. Trump has not even behaved or spoken in any way that signals to a viewer that he is personally remorseful for the multitude of injustices he has inflicted upon others.
Trump has not accepted responsibility, nor apologized, for targeting and killing over 160 schoolgirls and their teachers Feb 2026. He is responsible for the 2,000-lb. bomb that was dropped on residences in Iran--that killed a family of 3 and 2 other children. He will never admit guilt.

One mother recites prayers at her daughter's grave in the sequence that she recited with her daughter, before our country's indifference to the dignity of life bombed away their mother-and-child routine of saying prayers before bedtime. Remember how Trump 1.0 would walk the aftermath of a tornado, and of a riot in Kenosha, WI? Seems to me he should walk the sites of destroyed schools in Iran, the rubble-lined streets in Lebanon, and the demolished hospitals in Gaza...and the cemeteries in all 3 countries.
And yes, things have to be read to him. But even then he becomes bored quickly, and has a short attention span.

I don't know that Trump can fathom true (not the feigned variety we see in politics) scorn or actually being shunned. His circle of complicit family and fellow grifters crowd out all but boot licking sycophants and hired help. How would such a man get the human signals that he's not just out of line but far off track? The only thing representative about our government at this point is how pathetic and hypocritical we've allowed it to become. Trump will only realize the vacuity of his leadership when he is forced to turn and see there is absolutely no one behind him.
And that is happening, slowly slowly, by a lot of citizens noticing what another citizen, plus, writers who are analyzing the vacuum of leadership in the U.S. Gov't., plus, podcasters' observations on US chaos impact across the globe....Col. Wilkerson told Glenn Diesen yesterday that he is saddened that the American public acts quiescent instead of banding together with insistent demand that the corruption and poor decisions be corrected right now, not waiting for election season rolly-polly opportunities for opposition.

I don't know what definition of "shrew" the author goes by (didn't go to his/her substack), but I remember TV's rendering of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, with the magnificent wildebeestes Richard Burton and wife, Elizabeth Taylor. Great performance of their real married life, I think. Anyway....thanks for sharing the thoughtful commentary.
