There are multiple articles out in Lefty media outlets, all suggesting that the collective West screwed up and that Ukraine is facing the end game. Among the outlets featured are two US ones—the WaPo and Politico. Interestingly, reading the two US articles suggests they both rely on basically the same sources, who—while admitting that the Ukrainian offensive is a complete bust, still attempt to maintain a stiff upper lip. But “US officials and insiders alike” are starting to whisper the question: Was this all a big screwup? How do we prepare a narrative for the American public that gets us out of this without blame? One gets the impression that they’re preparing for Election 2024. There’s a NYT article out, too, that suggests what that narrative will be.
So, Politico:
The conversation about Ukraine’s counteroffensive has shifted from one of excitement to disappointment, as Kyiv’s slow gains lead some U.S. officials and insiders alike to whisper: Should we have listened to Gen. MARK MILLEY?
Recall that Milley had attempted to suggest negotiations with Russia as an out, but got slapped down. Now Milley is telling reporters that he told ‘em so. Milley’s career end has led other “US officials” to be more tightlipped, but the message is similar—reality isn’t being kind to Neocon dreams of glory. But we also see the first part of the exit strategy making an appearance. Blame it on the timid Ukrainians, trying to preserve their troops, rather than feeding them into the Russian minefields wholesale:
One U.S. official, who didn’t want to run afoul of the administration by offering real views on the record, said the realities of the counteroffensive are sinking in around Washington. Ukraine’s tactics to preserve troops and equipment, Russia’s dug-in positions and the fight on multiple fronts have led to slow advances, shifting a possible breakthrough further into the future.
While the U.S. still backs Ukraine’s fight, the official said, “We may have missed a window to push for earlier talks.” ... And no senior leader felt then, or feels now, that the counteroffensive was a mistaken play, considering how Ukraine maintains full support from the West and has had remarkable success throughout the war. Still, the official declared: “Milley had a point.”
Full support of the West for Ukraine? That’s a narrative, not a fact. The reality is that the collective West is fragmenting, is in political disarray, and it has the ruling elite worried. Thus, the Zhou regime is facing the tough question: What next?
Another U.S. official said the administration is increasingly asking itself this question: “If we acknowledge we’re not going to do this forever, then what are we going to do?”
No easy answers.
Next, the WaPo, and you’ll see the similarities. The West—i.e., the Neocons—in the face of admittedly “staggering losses” for the Ukrainianians, nevertheless are pointing the finger of blame at Ukraine for attempting to “stem the losses.” The outlook is “bleak”, but “US officials” still hope to be “surprised.”
U.S. intelligence says Ukraine will fail to meet offensive’s key goal
Thwarted by minefields, Ukrainian forces won’t reach the southeastern city of Melitopol, a vital Russian transit hub, according to a U.S. intelligence assessment
The grim assessment ... is likely to prompt finger pointing inside Kyiv and Western capitals ...
... in the first week of fighting, Ukraine incurred major casualties against Russia’s well-prepared defenses ...
Joint war games conducted by the U.S., British and Ukrainian militaries anticipated such losses but envisioned Kyiv accepting the casualties as the cost of piercing through Russia’s main defensive line, said U.S. and Western officials.
But Ukraine chose to stem the losses on the battlefield ...
The bleak outlook, briefed to some Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill, has already prompted a blame game inside closed-door meetings.
U.S. officials said Washington was still open to Kyiv surprising skeptics and overcoming the odds.
Hopium simply isn’t a strategy, but the Neocons are going to try to tough it out.
The other part of the exit strategy appeared in the NYT. There, “unnamed (US) officials” are cited in support of the outlandish claim that Russian casualties “dwarf” Ukrainian casualties. You can read a more balanced assessment at Zerohedge. In fact, Ukraine itself has admitted to casualties nearly 5x more than the NYT is attempting to put forward. What’s obviously going on here is that the “unnamed officials” hope to justify the incredibly costly Ukraine failure as somehow “worth it”, because Russia was seriously “damaged”—parroting the Lindsey! talking points. Can they get away with this Big Lie? Possibly, given that the war on Russia has been a Uniparty affair. Absent a public awakening the Big Lie just might work.
Seymour Hersh has some fun with all this denial and hopium in his new substack, which is bitingly sarcastic. It runs under two titles, the first at Zerohedge and the second at his own site—each title reflects major themes of the article:
"The End Is Nearing" - Seymour Hersh Slams The White House's "Wishful Approach" To Ukraine War
and
Wishful thinking is still the rule among Biden's foreign policy team, as the slaughter in Ukraine continues
The slaughter Hersh is referring to—sourced to US intel officials—is the slaughter of Ukrainians. To give you the flavor for Hersh’s sarcasm, a few brief excerpts:
It’s been weeks since we looked into the adventures of the Biden administration’s foreign policy cluster, led by Tony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, and Victoria Nuland. How has the trio of war hawks spent the summer?
The short answer, which Hersh provides in more detail, is that they spent the summer staggering from one global debacle to another. Hersh first focuses on the conference in Jeddah that accomplished nothing at all. It seems that—the the Neocon fantasy world—by the time of the Jeddah conference Putin was supposed to be awaiting trial, much like Trump. Hubris any?
I asked an American intelligence official why it was Sullivan who emerged from the Biden administration’s foreign policy circle to preside over the inconsequential conference in Saudi Arabia.
“Jeddah was Sullivan’s baby,” the official said. “He planned it to be Biden’s equivalent of [President Woodrow] Wilson’s Versailles. The grand alliance of the free world meeting in a victory celebration after the humiliating defeat of the hated foe to determine the shape of nations for the next generation. Fame and Glory. Promotion and re-election. The jewel in the crown was to be Zelensky’s achievement of Putin’s unconditional surrender after the lightning spring offensive. They were even planning a Nuremberg type trial at the world court, with Jake as our representative.
Hersh ends on a serious note:
So the White House’s wishful approach to the war, when it comes to realistic talk to the American people, will continue apace. But the end is nearing, even if the assessments supplied by Biden to the public are out of a comic strip.
We’ll wrap this up with some stories from the culture war front. First, Bonchie at Red State cites this story as evidence that the official anti-Christian regime that is Uniparty America is pushing forward with their hate agenda:
Pro Golfer Deemed 'Unacceptable' Due to Christian Beliefs, and It's Only Going to Get Worse
Amy Olson is a golfer on the Women’s Tour. When she took to the course while seven months pregnant major media outlets ran with stories. But then …
when she was interviewed by the Global Golf Post, Olson was suddenly deemed unacceptable after she said the following.
"The irony is not lost on me that, one year ago, when Roe v. Wade was overturned, women from around the world, even on tour, were outraged. Now, a year later, people are celebrating that I'm going to be playing a major championship with an unborn child that they recognize as a life."
As observations of irony go, Olson was dead on with that one. The press loves a feel-good story about pregnancy until they are challenged with the reality that pregnancy actually means something. Namely, it's only noteworthy because there's a human life inside the womb being spotlighted.
According to Olson and Steve Eubanks (a former editor at the Global Golf Post), because the pro-golfer dared to share a Christian, pro-life viewpoint, the story was canned. As interesting as a woman playing on the pro tour while seven months pregnant was, the sensibilities of those who think they can kill babies in the womb at will must come first. It wasn't just the Global Golf Post, either. USA Today was apparently going to run the story as well and likewise pulled it.
Here’s an eye-opener:
These 14 American Cities Have A ‘Target’ Of Banning Meat, Dairy, And Private Vehicles By 2030
In case you couldn’t guess, here are those cities:
Fourteen major American cities are part of a globalist climate organization known as the “C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group,” …
C40’s dystopian goals can be found in its “The Future of Urban Consumption in a 1.5°C World” report, which was published in 2019 and reportedly reemphasized in 2023. The organization is headed and largely funded by Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg. Nearly 100 cities across the world make up the organization, and its American members include Austin, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.
The Power Elite in America are seriously nuts:
Ultimately, the climate coalition’s goals are inherently anti-human. People generally need meat and the protein it provides to flourish. Banning meat and dairy, restricting calories, genetically altering the human body, and impoverishing the masses will hurt the planet and people. More likely than not, it will do more than hurt people — it will kill many of them.
Zerohedge takes an in depth look at the resurgence of Christian schooling—certainly one of the most important and successful grass roots movements in America:
After Years In The Wilderness, Conservative Christian Education Is Being Born Again Post-Pandemic
The article focuses on Evangelical schools, but not exclusively. For example, the author notes that competition for resurgent Evangelical schools comes from other forms of independent schooling:
But after the growth spurt, scholars and school leaders are asking a big question: Does it have legs or will it soon burn out?
New-wave Christian schooling faces plenty of headwinds. There’s competition for students from well-established Catholic schools, which have a superior academic track record, as well as rapidly expanding charter networks and homeschooling, says David Sikkink, a prominent scholar of religious education at Notre Dame. And there are the old-guard fundamentalist schools that resist accreditation and refuse to accept school-choice funding.
“Are Christian schools going to retain those parents who came at the end of COVID and continue to grow?” says Vance Nichols, head of Alta Loma Christian School in southern California. “That’s the question of the moment.”
The article provides an overview of the reasons behind the resurgence—the Covid Regime lockdowns, the discovery that Wokists had taken over virtually all government schools—the historical reasons for the period of stagnation that preceded the resurgence, and a close look at two states that are leading the way: Florida and Arizona.
Last but not least, Judge Napolitano’s Youtube from yesterday will be thought provoking—JFK Assassination - the CIA's Role w/Jacob Hornberger. Hornberger is the author of An Encounter With Evil:
"At 17.00 Kiev time. More than 100 people were injured as a result of a rocket attack on an "exhibition" in Chernihiv with a modified Iskander K missile. More than 60 people died.
The NATO air ambulance has been working around the clock, carrying heavy ones to the countries of the alliance.
Destroyed several key specialists - NATO cryptographers from the Baltics - 11 senior NATO officers are missing"
