A number of commentators raised real alarm over Ordering the Selected Reserve and Certain Members of the Individual Ready Reserve of the Armed Forces to Active Duty. We discussed this briefly at After Vilnius, Rumors Of Wars. I offer further perspective on this from two perceptive commentators because of the light their comments shed on the current strategic position the American Empire finds itself in, along with its vassal states in Europe. Read their remarks in connection with Seymour Hersh’s observations on the disarray within the Zhou regime, brought on by the disastrous Neocon crusade against Russia.
We start with Will Schryver:
I've seen all sorts of hand-wringing about 3000 US reserves being called up to support ... drum roll ... Operation Atlantic Resolve. Oh, my! It's supposedly the first steps towards direct NATO intervention in this war.
People have completely lost their perspective.
People more qualified than I have calculated that the US has, at most, a total of 250k combat effectives spread out across the planet. The Russians have about 3x that number in the Ukrainian theater alone. Think it through ...
Impotent posturing
The jig is up. They know it. But they never gave much thought to the possibility of the outcome now presented to them. Faced with two unthinkable options, they are utterly befuddled, and know not what to do. It is a very dangerous situation, to be sure.
Now Big Serge:
Again, the story here isn’t an immanent US entry into Ukraine. The story is that America’s personnel crisis has gotten so bad that they legitimately cannot organically support their peacetime deployments.

Reserve troops who may be called up for Europe duty would serve 'administrative' functions, Kirby says http://ow.ly/JsTp104OaJ2
I understand why people are scoffing at my use of the word "peacetime", but you have to understand that if America actually tried to get involved directly in Ukraine the manpower needs would be significantly higher. Desert storm was 700k Americans, and Iraq was not a peer.
What does this say about the state of incompetence in the American Empire’s strategic thinking and planning? It has been overrun by ideological wishful thinking, divorced from reality.
"Ideological wishful thinking, divorced from reality" has been the M.O. in all big government for at least 15 years, right?
Meanwhile back in the "homeland" this crap goes on:

Do you folks see why I have nothing but anger for the fed gov., why aren't OUR troops protecting OUR borders? I have almost as much anger for Governor incremental, aka Greg Abbott!
