The biggest development may be the naming of Jim Comey (see below). In addition, it appears that the sketchy FBI Chicago opening of a Full Field Investigation on the Alfa Bank Hoax quickly went sour, just as it had in New York. The Chicago tech agents appear to have quickly sniffed out the bogus nature of the Joffe material.
Chicago agents, predictably, wanted to talk to the source about this garbage. It shouldn’t be predictable that FBIHQ wanted to hide the source from Chicago agents, but sadly it is in this politicized FBIHQ:
This could prove very important, going forward. Previously we knew about Bruce and Nellie Ohr being connected to the Steele “dossier”. Now we learn that Bruce Ohr, at least, was also connected to the Alfa Bank Hoax. Obviously they’ve been cooperating. We’ll have to see where that leads because, remember, Bruce Ohr was keeping Andrew Weissmann briefed on the anti-Trump ops, and that translates into Team Mueller:
It appears Durham may be particularly interested in Joffe feeding his garbage to FBI Chicago—because no intermediary?
Question: Why would a FBI Director be “fired up” about this information? Does it indicate political bias? After all, nothing had yet been corroborated. Why not a more cautious initial reaction?
JP = Joe Pientka
CH = Chris Heide (FBI Chicago)
From various accounts Bill Priestap seems to have come across as the doofuss I’ve previously described him as:
Fool Nelson just had a twitter post that says:
"I figured it out... US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE is Sussmann's CHS codename.
Mark, you say "Now we learn that Bruce Ohr, at least, was also connected to the Alfa Bank Hoax." I'm unaware of ANY evidence supporting that claim. Sperry often repeats things without attribution. In this case, it looks to me like he's repeating a claim that lacks any foundation. At this point, it is also possible that the claim of a "referral from DOJ" was fabricated by someone at FBI or was a "misunderstanding" at the FBI. It's an important dig-here, but incorrect to overegg at this point by attributing to Bruce Ohr.
