That NBC poll naturally included questions on lots more than just Covid Regime mandate policies. I decided to separate the two because Covid is a sui generis type of thing—even while being central to the state the country is in.
I picked up two tweets that provide a capsule summary of what we could call the political results of the poll—recognizing, of course, that the Covid results are political in a more complex way. I got these from Red State, and it’s nice to hear Chuck Todd describing what follows as “scary”:
NBC’s @chucktodd “shocked” by 71% “wrong track” number in new NBC News poll. Todd also surprised by GOP popularity. “Republicans, believe it or not, have double digit leads in dealing with border security, inflation, crime” and, “shockingly, on getting things done.” #MTP
The brutal @NBCNews poll reinforces findings in the @NRCC’s recent battleground poll.
On the issues that voters care about most, Republicans have a commanding lead.
Just look at this graphic.
By the way, I’m guessing that the ranking of the issues probably comes fairly close to the public’s ranking of what concerns them most. Roughly speaking.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/covid19/mortality-overview.htm Oct 24, 2021
Deaths by age - 75.7% [555,447] 65 years or older.
20.5% [150,900] 45 to 64.
3.9% [28,528] under 45.
Most Frequently Listed Comorbidities with COVID-19 Deaths:
influenza & pneumonia - 48.2% [353,405]
hypertension - 18.9% [138,793]
diabetes - 15.6% [114,104]
alzheimer dementia - 11.7% [85,670]
sepsis - 9.8% [71,593]
Note: There were co-morbidities or other listed on the death certificate for as many as 95% of all covid 19 deaths.
The other 5% of the death certificates in which covid 19 was the only condition listed was likely related to a lack of detail listed about other conditions present at the time of death.
Looking at the details on the poll, I did not see the breakdown by Party. My guess is the poll deliberately over sampled Democrats, it is by NBC after all.
The missing hot button issues not being measured are Education and racism.
