Let’s start the week with a brief bit of speculation. What was the purpose of the Ukrainian incursion into Russia in the Kursk region? The US always claims it never knew what was coming from Israel and Ukraine, even when it’s obvious that many of the provocations against Russia, Iran, Hezbollah depended on US intel. That is unquestionably true with the Kursk incursion, but was also true with the ISIS-K terror attacks as well.
Ask yourself: If you’re a Neocon, what worries you most about Trump getting back into the White House? Right. A negotiated settlement with Russia—not just a ceasefire but a more or less overall settlement and coming to terms with Russia. How to prevent that? Well, preemption would be ideal. Assassination, hacking of the Trump campaign, whatever—make sure Trump doesn’t re-become President in the first place. Because he undoubtedly learned a few things from his first experience, and will probably be wilier and more dangerous in a second administration.
So, failing pre-emption, a possible strategy would be to alienate Putin to such a degree that no settlement between Trump and Putin could be reached within a four year term. In a sense, this would be a repeat of the first Trump administration, when the Russia Hoax, sanctions, and arming of Ukraine deep sixed Trump’s plans for a rapprochement. The whole war is further down the road, now, so more dramatic measures are called for—all the provocations against Russia that anyone in their right mind realizes originate from the US Deep State for their preparation, planning, and most of their execution. Certainly for crucial intel input via satellite surveillance. Kursk, as an actual invasion of the Russian homeland, is in a sense the most serious provocation so far.
Now look at Putin’s reaction. Is this what the Neocons want? I think so. I can’t swear this is part of the strategy outlined above, but since the result fits, well …

Ukraine and NATO mercenaries hold 28 settlements in Russia under their control - Governor Smirnov stated at a meeting with Putin
The depth of penetration of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is 12 km, the width is 40 km.
We do not know the fate of about 2 thousand people who are in settlements under enemy control.
180,000 people are subject to evacuation, 121,000 people have left and been evacuated.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces used chemical weapons in the Belovsky district of the Kursk region.
This is serious, even if defeat of the Ukraine/NATO forces is happening apace. Putin has to respond in a manner commensurate with this provocation. And so …

BREAKING:
Putin said there is nothing to talk about with Kiev anymore, which attacks civilians and nuclear power facilities.
No more negotiations between Russia and Ukraine—isn’t that what the Neocons want? No possibility of negotiations between Israel and the Axis of Resistance (headed by Iran) in the Middle East—isn’t that what the Neocons want, because that would reduce Neocon leverage? The difference regarding the two fronts of the current Anglo-Zionist war on the World Island is that the Middle East front has no viable proxy like Ukraine (no, Israel is not a viable proxy, for several reasons), and so will require direct US involvement:
The Geographic Pivot of the History,[14] and presented his theory of the Heartland and made a case for fully taking into account geopolitical factors at the Paris Peace conference and contrasted (geographical) reality with Woodrow Wilson's idealism. The book's most famous quote was: "Who rules East Europe commands the Heartland; Who rules the Heartland commands the World Island; Who rules the World Island commands the World."[18]
It’s all of a piece with the encircling of China, from Taiwan through the South China Sea, through the India Ocean to the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean. Yes, it’s all crazy, but that’s just Neocons.

The largest US warmonger U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham is enjoying the war between Russia and Ukraine:
"What I think of Kursk? Bold, brilliant and beautiful.
"Keep it up.
"Putin started this, kick his ass!"

Glenn Greenwald @ggreenwald
Major US military assets are being deployed to the Middle East as a regional war becomes increasingly possible.
The NYT says all this was "ordered" by Defense Sec. Austin "to take every possible step to defend Israel."
Is the President involved? Anyone know if Kamala agrees?
