Israeli Savagery Documented

It’s sickening, but it’s necessary to be informed. We can’t hide from American complicity in this. No other comment necessary.

First, brief excerpts from a very thorough expose of Israeli use of human shields on a routine basis. I begin with this because of some recent quite sick comments I’ve received that purport to deny this fact:

The Israel Defense Forces’ use of Palestinians – who are often handcuffed and forced to wear IDF uniforms – as human shields prompted the leading U.S. Muslim advocacy group on Monday to call on the Biden administration to investigate what experts say is a war crime by the No. 1 recipient of American military aid.

International media outlets including Al Jazeera, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Britain’s The Guardian, and The New York Times have reported how Israel uses abducted Palestinian militants and civilians to proceed ahead of IDF troops in underground tunnels and buildings in order to protect their captors during life-threatening missions.

In May, a report published by Defense for Children International-Palestine revealed that Palestinian minors are forced to walk ahead of IDF soldiers during dangerous raids. Subsequent Al Jazeera reports of a Palestinian strapped to the hood of an Israeli combat vehicle to deter attack and Gazans being sent into buildings and tunnels to ensure the locations weren’t rigged with explosives sparked international outrage and initial IDF denials.

“It’s hard to recognize them. They’re usually wearing Israeli army uniforms, many of them are in their 20s, and they’re always with Israeli soldiers of various ranks,” Haaretz reported in August. But upon closer examination, “you see that most of them are wearing sneakers, not army boots. And their hands are cuffed behind their backs and their faces are full of fear.”

But that’s almost mild stuff, compared to what Israelis have gleefully documented on social media:

Film produced by British journalist presents alarming footage, largely uploaded to social media by Israeli soldiers, exhibiting volumes of apparent war crimes, including torture, rape, starvation and direct killing against throngs of Palestinians.

This is a very lengthy article, graphic in its content, so I’ll only briefly excerpt it to provide an idea of the substance:

Drawing from a database of over 2,500 social media posts from Israeli soldiers themselves, numerous witness accounts, and other sources in the public record, the producers of the film document evidence of numerous atrocities including:

1. an apparent widely executed policy of Israeli snipers shooting Palestinian children,

2. the Israeli army’s targeted killing of journalists and their families,

3. unspeakable incidents of humiliation, torture, and rape of Palestinian detainees,

4. highly violent attacks upon every hospital in Gaza and their personnel, shutting down over half of them altogether,

5. Israel’s deliberate assassination of aid workers as part of an overall strategy to impose starvation upon the population of over 2 million people (1M children), 90% of whom have been displaced from their homes,

6. dozens of cases of Palestinians being used by the Israel army as human shields, and

7. the deliberate targeting of civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure including the controlled demolition of many buildings along with the looting, pillaging and destruction of Palestinian homes by Israeli soldiers.

And with exuberant glee such apparent crimes are posted online by Israeli belligerents and complemented with enthusiastic celebrations by their fellow citizens singing and dancing in night clubs and producing mocking social media videos which are shared thousands of times.
