Briefly is what I intend, but we’ll have to see how it works out. Some of these stories are old news that simply deserve a reminder—they’re continuing and they matter. Others are things that tend to fly under the radar of public awareness. Some are new takes on current events. In no particular order.
Woke Corporate Shows Contempt For Women By Subsidizing Abortions And Cutting Maternity Leave
I linked this story in a comment. It’s important for what it says about the culture of our ruling elite. For a very different approach, Andrei Martyanov’s On Wunderwaffe Thinking, Again. And Some Other Items makes a similar point—while pointing out that America still differs from the rest of the West in important respects. The exceptionality of America, however, is not in its ruling elite but in its subject class—which is less subject than in Europe. For now:
This [the swatting MTG] is not the issue of elections, it is the issue of serious mental illness of the combined West as a whole, and the signs of it are everywhere. I loved PJW's great eye for detail. You say, do not use the broad brush? I say, nothing wrong with using it now.
And here is the issue--that sets the US a little bit apart from, in this particular case, UK. US still retains its guns and a culture of a manliness.
Report: Armed Citizen Foils Mass Shooting, Kills Indiana Mall Attacker
That is why I am always on record: while the United States itself faces a huge upheaval and even disintegration, a strong undercurrent of a classic, meaning normal, human values exists here. This may play its crucial role down the road. And yes, we have our guns to defend our homes in case the law and order breaks down. Europe, meanwhile, is encapsulated in this single photo of a father using own daughter to protect himself--this is the level of instincts, my friends, and the instincts are appalling, as is a society which promotes such "values". Defending a child is more than just matter of love, it is biological, deep inside our DNA. No wonder those types of people are the once who vote for human trash, cowards, narcissists and psychopaths.
This is one of those stories that’s a continuing story but doesn’t get widely reported nationally. It also speaks to ruling elite culture and attitudes toward the subject population—as so many of these stories do.
4.9 Million Illegal Aliens Crossed US Border In 18 Months Since Biden Took Office: Report
A total of 4.9 million illegal aliens, including some 900,000 “gotaways” who evaded apprehension and have since disappeared into American communities, have entered the country by the end of July, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said in a statement on Aug. 16.
Think about this one, if you work from home. Well, I work at home, which I hope is different:
Working From Home Now Means Letting Corporate Surveillance Into Your Daily Life
… there is an agenda afoot which seeks to exploit the work-from-home dynamic and pervert it into something ugly. And, it is rooted in a growing trend of corporate surveillance of employees in their own houses.
Eight out of ten the largest employers in the US already track productivity metrics at the workplace. This means monitoring software on work computers, surveillance cameras, facial recognition, mood recognition, keystroke records, and even cell phone tracking apps with GPS records. The argument in favor of this kind of Orwellian all-seeing eye is: “You don't have to work here if you don't want to – you can always quit.”
Next, two articles on the story of the day—the Zhou Regime’s MAL Raid. These are good follow on from our post yesterday about the legal aspects. Conrad Black provides a nice overview, sets the tone with special emphasis on the media. Black notes how the whole narrative seems to be imploding. I provide the beginning and end:
Conrad Black: The Regime Has Its Man - All It Needs Now Is The Crime
A week after the invasion and nine-hour occupation of former President Trump’s home in Palm Beach, Florida, it is becoming clearer every day that there was no plausible legal reason for it.
…
The Democrats, who until recently subscribed to the wishful fantasy that Trump’s support was melting away, have effectively confirmed him as commander of the Republicans. They may also have finally generated some independent voter empathy for him, and enabled him to appear in a more generous light than he has had at any time in the last six years. The legal farce is de-escalating, and it will be a real challenge even for the totalitarian legions of media Trump-haters to maintain a straight face and unwavering inflection as they try to provide a legal justification for this preposterous flim-flam job.
However, Chet Richards at American Thinker provides us with useful information that sheds new light and understanding on the matter. And he comes to the same conclusions—this is about Deep State CYA. Richards is a person who held a high security clearance that also allowed him to maintain classified material at home, albeit it without the 24/7 presence of armed Secret Service personnel. He smells a rat:
Something's missing in the Mar-a-Lago coverage
I make three points. The first is that the Justice Department is blowing smoke. They are either completely incompetent or deliberately abusing their authority by lying to the court. The second point is that the investigative media (including Fox News) have not done their homework and have not found out how the security system actually works. The third point illustrates the first. In no legal sense is Donald Trump guilty of anything. This is because, as a former president, he has both a TS/SCI personal clearance and the same level of facility clearances for his various locations.
To complete the circle, the first two points follow from the third: the Justice Department has charged Donald Trump with violating security regulations by having inappropriate classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Well, as president, Trump's home, and probably everywhere he may reside or work, automatically has a TS/SCI facility clearance. And so his home is appropriate for the safekeeping of classified documents.
As I said yesterday, no one is above the law, but not every law applies to every person—or not in the same way. So Richards concludes:
What is interesting here is that Trump had specifically ordered the declassification of all materials related to the FBI's involvement in Russiagate and related matters. But it seems this declassification was not carried out. In other words, the involved people in the Justice Department apparently refused a direct presidential order. I suspect that this is really behind what is going on. I suspect that the FBI and the Justice Department are trying to cover their tracks. Be prepared for a substantial number of documents to turn up missing.
Yeah. Just giving the stuff back doesn’t fit in with what the Deep State is about, but how did they not factor in the courts getting involved? This could get very interesting, indeed.
Next up is a very long article that addresses the continuing demolition of Europe. The ruling elite—who the author identifies as NATO and the World Economic Forum (WEF)—appear determined to fight this war against Russia not only to the last Ukrainian but to the last European. The article appears to have been inspired by Josef Borrell’s jaw dropping remarks yesterdayj:
Authored by Raul Ilargi Meijer via The Automatic Earth,
As I read through the multitude of daily news articles about Russia, Ukraine, NATO and EU, it’s getting ever harder to escape the idea that there is a controlled demolition of the continent happening. And that neither its “leaders”, and certainly not its people, have any say in this. All we get from those “leaders” are NATO or World Economic Forum talking points. The only independent voice is Victor Orban. Who is either silenced in western media or painted as fully insane.
But Orban’s Hungarians won’t freeze this coming winter. He just signed a new gas deal with Russia.
…
The entire energy and food crisis is being sold as “inevitable”, but it is nothing of the kind. They are the result of choices being made in Brussels, Berlin, Amsterdam etc., about which nobody has asked your opinion. …
…
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell wants Europeans to be obedient little critters, and take the punishment for the policies he and his ilk have carved out. Because “we” are destined to win. Mr. Borrell is planing to do just fine this winter, mind you. With the best steak your money can buy, real fine wine, to be consumed in comfortably heated homes, restaurants and offices. A picture of Marie Antoinette pops up in my brain.
Macron Warns Of ‘End Of Abundance’
There is a pattern in the messages of today’s Marie Antoinettes. Borrell wants you to take it lying down, Macron wants you to do that for a long time (like the rest of your lives), and the Belgian PM makes it more concrete: you’ll be freezing for the next 10 years. After which, supposedly, renewables will have been built to keep your kids warm. Spoiler: they won’t be.
Belgian PM: “Next 5-10 Winters Will Be Difficult” As Energy Crisis Worsens
Are you getting the picture? Well, here’s a great laugh line:
… according to AP, “Washington expects Ukrainian forces “to fight for years to come.” “Included in the package are advanced weapons that are still in the development phase..”
And then the author drops the hammer on these ruling twits—it boils down to this, and it’s not that complicated:
And there is no logical reason for this, there is only the ideology of a few handfuls of little men with grand visions. Hate of everything Russia has kept the west going for 100 years or more. And these little men feed off of that. They can only do that by refusing to talk. Because that’s exactly what Russia does not refuse. Only, they want to talk as equals.
This next story is kind of a follow-on to the brief reference the other day to parents leaving the wokest schools to get their kids away from it all. But there’s a twist to this one—a wakeup call:
To avoid today's wokeness, parents are enrolling their kids in Catholic school
Faith-based education is helping parents avoid woke agenda
…
More parents are enrolling their kids in private Christian schools today in an effort to combat the woke curriculum of many of America's public schools. They're choosing to put kids in schools that support the faith and values they offer at home.
"Fox & Friends First" co-host Carly Shimkus talked with the Rev. Jadyn Nelson, president of Bishop Ryan Catholic School, and parent Perry Olsen on Wednesday morning, Aug. 24, 2022, about the current move by some parents to leave public school education behind.
Nelson explained that his school, in Minot, North Dakota, is seeing increased interest from parents in private Christian education.
"This year we are up 6% [in enrollment] overall, and we’ve been seeing year-over-year gains around 5% for the last five years," Nelson said.
"Sixty-seven new families for a small school like ours is good interest in what we’re doing here."
That’s right. Parents in Minot, North Dakota, are desperate to get their kids out of woke government schools. And, as the interview mentions, just down the road from Minot, in Fargo, the Pledge of Allegiance was briefly banned—for mentioning God. Minot is not just some abberation. Point: if you think you can somehow move away from it, you’re wrong. They’ll follow you. They’ll get your kids.
Finally, is this next one a wakeup call for Trump supporters—like me? I like to talk about accountability a lot, well, how about it? If Trump runs again and gets elected, do we also get Jared? This is a long article, well documented. I’ve excerpted the conclusion. The bottom line is, Trump needs to address this. We need some accountability and some answers. It can’t be just up to Rand Paul and Ron Johnson and a handful of others:
Jared Kushner and the Mystery of the First US Lockdown
…
Look, this whole scene truly just boggles the mind. Phone calls. Rushed documents. Friends of friends. Pharma executives. People in the know!
The result was a document that shut down the US and the world, all banged out by rank amateurs with ungodly privilege, with nary a thought of asking disinterested experts. Whatever they typed would affect the lives of 333 million people coast to coast. Did they think about that? Did they even care? Did the even once think about people not of their class and pedigree?
The result: Trump agreed to the “guidelines,” which led to the most momentous lockdown decision in the history of public health and even in the whole of human history. It locked down hospitals, nursing homes, and every commercial establishment in the country except those called essential. Homes too: the CDC said no more than ten can come to your house for dinner.
So let’s get this straight. This decision, which wrecked life in the US and all over the world, and eventually caused the loss of the presidency and the Congress, was made by a handful of well-connected tech entrepreneurs with ZERO experience in infectious disease, epidemiology, immunology, pandemic history, or anything other than management and business classes at the Wharton School. With close Google connections. And they did this in cooperation with one name board member of Big Pharma that ended up making billions in profits from mandated vaccines that were forced on the American people. Also, Google made a mint.
Apparently, the above is a true story, based on one first-hand account and one journalistic account. The world was wrecked by a literal snake salesman, the Google-funded inventor of DoorDash for medicine, a big pharma executive, some bureaucrat who lived off AIDS largess, an octogenarian media star who had been in government for 40 years, plus the son-in-law of an easily bamboozled name-brand purveyor who imagined from his years as a CEO that he could just shut down a country and turn it back on! They constitute a plethora of elites who scammed their way to the top and deployed their new-found power in grossly immoral ways that wrecked this country and many others.
That’s a major “OUCH!”
Now, to be clear, there is surely much more to this story. For one thing, even as these birds were deliberating, the Department of Health and Human Services had already issued on March 13 a lockdown order marked as classified. So it was already in the cards. Maybe these bozos only believed they were in charge when the real power was higher up. I do not know. But I would like to. It’s like a kaleidoscope that never stops turning. What we know now is enough of a scandal.
There’s plenty of blame to go around, but we need answers. And we need not to tempt fate with a rerun by putting the people responsible back in charge. These are tough issues that need to be hashed out.
Mark, my thanks for the Chet Richards piece in particular. I never thought we were being told the truth about that raid. This is one of the few pieces I've read that actually makes sense.
Wouldn’t you know, Europe has a Spanish socialist (Catalan, the most arrogant!), with a giant moat in one eye, hectoring and lecturing his “weary” underlings that they will just have to lump it and “endure” all the various shortages, outages, curtailments of every kind brought to us by whom??? By the Euros! That article, Mark, I read at Zerohedge, practically screaming out loud! The sleepwalking Euros imposed the sanctions on Russian energy, et voilà le résultat! What did they expect? It is all so maddening.
