I forgot to thank Bluto Barr for this. Granted, he's not the only one responsible, but he was in a position to make a difference. Not just after the election, but for long months, even a year, before the election.

To all those suggesting, along with Andrea Widburg, an Obama replacement "presidency", I say: Never say never, BUT ...

Don't forget that Obama was not a terribly popular president. His 2012 win was, as we now know, probably due to to domestic spying and ended up being a close thing anyway. Widburg says he's a smart politician, but he was ignored by the military in Syria (and probably elsewhere). Who thinks Obama is a match for Putin? Not me.

Also don't forget, the first step, Obama to the VP, would have to be approved by a 50-50 Senate--no tiebreaker vote present! I know what you'll say: Collins, Murkowski, Romney. But there are at least as many Dems in Red states facing tough reelection races. These shenanigans would likely enrage the voters who are already enraged at the failed faux presidency. Yes, Dems could try this, but don't think it'll be easy.

Then again, when was the last time we could say we were in normal times? Reagan? Bush1? Certainly not since.
