Hold My Beer?

They’re not done yet. What was it that Barry said about Zhou? Don’t underestimate him. But the real question is, Who’s pulling his strings?

Combination of reckless Biden admin policies and equally reckless Zelensky actions based on reckless Biden promises precipitated war, as Russia escalated response fearing the worst.
For those that thought Afghanistan wirthdrawal was a fiasco, Biden and Blinken said: hold my beer.

1. The Ukraine disaster has been long in the making: George W Bush made a substantial contribution with the 2008 pledge the Ukraine & Georgia would eventually join NATO; Obama made a very substantial contribution by promoting the 2014 Maidan coup d'état.

2. The most substantial contribution came from Biden, who turned post-Maidan Kiev into his own personal fiefdom. Then, starting in 2021, he sought to fast-track Ukraine's NATO entry. Trump made the least contribution to the fiasco. @Twitter however wants you to think otherwise

Not a serious country:

To put this in context, Trump wanted $4B for the southern border wall & Pelosi shut down the government over it.

#BreakingNews:
#Europe/an officials said they will NOT follow the #US steps in imposing sanctions on #Russia more than what they have already established.
In other words: We shot ourselves enough in the foot. No more place for another bullet & we have accommodated enough the US.

Can anyone stand this up? Nothing on Reuters or TASS.
Absolutely huge if true. Gas would get the headlines, but the potash and fertiliser shortage might have the most disastrous effects.

everyone in west seems convinced that sanctions are going to cripple Russia and that war effort is being financed by exports. But in late 2021, Russia was running a very large current surplus of $27 billion/month with exports nearly double imports ($57 billion vs $30 billion)

in 2020 (and it will be significantly different in 2021), approximately half Russia's imports came from China and Belarus. I expect that most of the $2B/month of imports from Germany and $1B/month from US could be easily replaced from China.

in contrast, US is running a current account deficit of $80 billion per month and has international debt of $22.8 trillion (Russia: $0.48 trillion).

one thing we do know is that Joe Biden has a reputation for being notoriously wrong on every foreign policy issue for past 40 years. Maybe Biden's economic warfare will be one more item on a lengthy list of failure.

We didn't really understand the disastrous impacts of the Clintons administration for 10 years after the fact. Obama/Biden policies were rejected with an historic midterm shellacking. But we knew the "fundamental change" would be felt in the short time they were in office - and they crushed the middle class.
But this regime?
We won't survive 3 years of this.
Who is pulling his strings?
We are living the Davos reset: the goal is to destroy the US economy- completely.
Good point in Trump doing the least on Ukraine.
And what little he did resulted in an impeachment.
