Larry Johnson this morning suggests that the murder of the WCK aid workers may have been an Israeli hit on UK intel assets:

I do not believe in coincidence. At a minimum it is unusual that former Special Operations Force veterans are running around working with humanitarian aid organizations. Were they doing intel collection using their WCK job as cover? That is what it looks like to me.
This then raises some additional questions — did Israeli intelligence know this? This would not be the first time that Israel has targeted deliberately Western intelligence assets. Remember the USS LIberty? This may just be an unhappy coincidence. But as I wrote above, I don’t believe in coincidence.

As an aside, and I think LJ touched on this during the Friday Intel Roundup, whatever gave José Areas the idea that his mission in Gaza, no matter how noble the intention, would get a pass from the Israelis? How naïve! To claim to have received the IDF’s blessing to deliver food to the starving, when it is precisely starvation that is the Israeli policy (backed by us) to me at least, betrays a stunning unrealism and arrogance that cost the lives of his devoted employees. Too bad Areas probably won’t get the brutal lesson. But then, when you hob-nob with the likes of the Blinkens, Bidens and le tout Washington…
