Have A Pavel Morozov Thanksgiving!
Pavel Morozov, as you may know, was the Young Pioneer schoolboy in the Stalinist USSR who supposedly ratted out his father for planning to help sabotage the Glorious Revolution of Father Stalin. Modern research suggests the whole story was invented , but that's not the point. We're all cultural Marxists now, so we know that history is an invention of the oppressive patriarchy--or something or other--and it's the narrative that counts. And so Pavel became a hero of The Revolution, a martyr to The Cause. He was held up to school children as a model, who were urged to follow in his footsteps and rat out reactionary parents and relatives so that they could experience "the highest measure of social defense". Canceling by firing squad.
The Republican governor of Vermont, Phil Scott, must have internalized the Pavel Morozov story at some point in his past--or maybe this is simply the natural mindset of our political class, irrespective of party. When I was a kid being taught by the nuns, the Pavel Morozov story was held up to us as the ultimate depravity of Red Marxism--kids spying on and betraying their parents to oppressive authorities! But we learn today that that's precisely the behavior and mindset that Scott wants to encourage in Vermont juveniles:
Vermont schools will grill students on their Thanksgiving celebrations, governor announces
Students who attend events with more than just their immediate household will be required to either take online classes for a two-week quarantine period or quarantine for a week and then have a negative COVID-19 test .
Vermont Gov. Phil Scott said during a press conference on Tuesday that schools in the state will include new questions during daily health checks about whether students and their parents attended gatherings outside of their households following the Thanksgiving holiday.

Scott noted that any students who attend events with more than just their immediate household will be required to either take online classes for a two-week quarantine period or quarantine for a week and then have a negative COVID-19 test.
...
The governor also encouraged businesses to take the same approach with their employees.
“From my standpoint, this is fair warning to those of you who are planning to have gatherings from outside your household for Thanksgiving,” Scott added. “If you don’t want your kids to have to transition to remote learning and quarantine for a seven-day period, maybe you ought to make other plans.”
"Fair warning" or simple threat--is this the new face of "public service" baring its fangs? And who will our Gramscian heroes be? Look to your right and left, look all around. Trust no one. That's the mindset the Great Reset hopes to inculcate in its subject populations.
And not to be outdone by a mere Republican ...
Dem governor Edwards of Louisiana is promulgating his “revised Plan 2”. Whether it's a Great Leap Forward (Red China seems to be our elites' social model) depends on your point of view. Prohibition was considered by some to be a sort of Great Leap Forward, but others begged to disagree. Regardless, Edwards' "revised Plan 2"--I do love the sound of that--will have the effect of forcing most bars in Louisiana to close from Wednesday, Nov. 25 until after Christmas. Because Covid.
Whose idea was it to elect these ...
