Tom Luongo has a fascinating and important article that Zerohedge has republished. The article is a commentary taking off from an article at Politico:
Politico is talking about the deal that has just been hammered out among the various German parties that have formed Germany’s new coalition government. There's some coded language in the Politico title, of course. "Rule of law", for example, refers to law as the EU's ruling elite views it. In practice, that means imposition of Cultural Marxism in the sense that our own Prog rulers view it. As applied, rule of law means bringing Poland and Hungary to heel on the EU's Cultural Marxist agenda.
Luongo's own title is more descriptive:
In Luongo's view this coalition agreement amounts to Germany caving to Davos on all important policy priorities:
In short, this is literally a laundry list of everything Davos has been demanding and it ensures the complete neutering or submission of the FDP’s Christian Lindner to the Davos agenda.
Exhibit number one for this cave, in Luongo’s view, is that, after initially indicating that there would be no new draconian Covid Regime crackdowns, in a quick about face Germany announced today:
Germany Imposes Strict Curbs On Unvaccinated, Limits Gatherings, Will Mandate Covid Shots
But the notion that this is a German cave to Davos assumes a degree of distance between the German ruling elite and Davos that I don't believe actually exists. It also assumes that "Davos" has some sort of hammer over Germany--as distinct from there being a sort of ideological mind-meld between the German elites and Davos.
Another way to look at this is to regard the coalition agreement as a sort of German declaration of victory in Germany's long war for European supremacy--a sort of Carolingian Empire with its center of mass shifted to the East, or a Holy Roman Empire without any pretense regarding Rome. Germany’s long war began in 1871 with the Franco-Prussian War and proceeded through World Wars 1.0 and 2.0, then through the Cold War. Where force of arms didn't carry the day against the rest of the world, Germany now sees the goal within its grasp through economic means.
Luongo hints as much. Shifting from his 'Davos brings Germany to its knees' narrative, as he gets deeper into his commentary he states flatly:
But, back to the coalition agreement. This is a document that reads like a German takeover of the entire continent. ...
Well, yes.
He tries to argue that this German 'takeover' somehow involves a loss of sovereignty on Germany’s part:
On the surface it cements the idea that Germany is in charge of the EU’s evolution from a collection of independent states into a full political and fiscal union which supersedes all national government considerations. But, at the same time it will further erode any sovereignty left in Germany, as well as any other EU member state.
But if Germany is calling the shots, exactly whose 'considerations' come first? I think that answer is clear enough.
For example, rule of law. Luongo can't keep his distinctions quite straight. Here he is describing exactly what Rule of Law really means. Please note that what we see here is Berlin using the EU for its own purposes--to subdue unruly countries with traditional Christian cultures that are still strong. This is simply Germany speaking through Berlin's puppet in Brussels:
Expecting this coalition to back down, for example, on “Rule-of-Law” issues with Poland and Hungary is a fantasy. If anything, now Berlin is giving Brussels a blank check to go after these two countries harder than ever.
Is that really Davos dictating policy to Germany, or isn't it simply that Davos and Berlin are of one mind?
Later Luongo uses the term "stalking horse" to describe what's going on--something very like an integration of Europe into the new Reich:
Moreover, to sell this transformation into a depraved technocracy, the Germans will push for more direct democratic ‘elections’ across the entire bloc to decide on leadership within the European Commission. Look everyone! Democracy!
This is simply a stalking horse for getting further political integration as the national governments still control who represents them on the Commission. Since, as we’ve seen time and again, Davos and the EU are in full control of the party apparatuses in each major country and the people’s loyalty so split up across five to seven parties in each of these countries, elections themselves are a complete joke since the coalitions that end up ruling look nothing like what the majority of the people actually voted for, c.f. Italy, Chechia, Austria.
Davos controls the governing coalitions in every country other than Hungary and Poland. This is an illusion of more democracy and furthering ‘European values’ while cementing total control within the Brussels bureaucracy.
The most insidious thing in the document to me is Germany’s call for ending unanimity within the European Council on foreign policy matters. This is where both Hungary and Poland have been able to fight off the worst advances by Brussels for years and retain some semblance of independence.
Note how Luongo starts out speaking as if "Davos and the EU" are calling the shots, but ends up describing "the most insidious thing" is a German governing coalition's plans for the rest of Europe. Germany will call the shots by telling the ‘national governments’ what it wants—who to select for the unaccountable Commission. ‘National’ elections are a masquerade, masking German control.
Then toward the end Luongo points out how popular all this will be with most Germans:
That said, I suspect this agreement will go down very well with German voters as it looks like one in which Germany’s power within the EU, which they are still overwhelmingly in favor of, expands greatly.
Who really thinks that a loss of sovereignty on the part of Germany would actually be popular with German voters? I think the real story is that German voters see this for what it is--a power move that will put Germany where it belongs--governing Europe according to German priorities, telling the fractious and backward Europeans what's best for them. German voters don’t see this as caving to Davos, because it isn’t.
The vehicle for enforcing German control is clear: Nordstream 2. Luongo has always understood what the German game there is, as did Trump. Nordstream 2 will give Germany the leverage it needs to bring the rest of Europe into line. That's not a surrender of sovereignty. It's expanded sovereignty by means other than war:
As always, the EU and Davos want Russia as their energy supplier but as a vassal not as a partner. If anyone is using Nordstream 2 as a political tool over the rest of Europe it is Germany, not Russia, as they [the Germans] will control the distribution of gas internally after Nordstream 2 is live, not Russia.
They will use that as a cudgel to get through many of these policy prescriptions. I am still convinced that Nordstream 2 will be live, delivering gas soon. It may take further negotiations to get it done but it will happen. Don’t discount Germany leaking the letter to the U.S. Congress lobbying them not to further sanction the pipeline because it will do irreparable damage to U.S./German relations.
Whether morons like Ted Cruz (R-TX) finally get this or not is still unknown. With the power vacuum at the top of the U.S. political system, where the Neocon Flying Monkeys are being allowed to bring us to the brink of a NATO war with Russia over Ukraine, all bets are off as to what happens next.
During the 2016 election my argument was that one of a President Trump's main foreign policy goals--outside of the obvious one of confronting China--would be to break Germany's increasing stranglehold over Europe. That's what Brexit was about. And this was also why I opposed allowing Ted and Heidi Cruz into the White House. Heidi's CV reads like a dream come true for Globalist ambitions to bring the US into line. All of this tells you everything you need to know about why Trump had to go--and about who owns our ruling elite.
Thank God for our Constitution with its federal system, and our two party political system. For all our problems, this is probably all that has stood between us and the the fate of the rest of the Western world, succumbing to Left authoritarianism. Trump saw this—does anyone else?
I guess I don't get the importance of whether "Germany caved to Davos" or not. Everyone (except perhaps France) has always understood that Germany has aspired to dominance in Europe through the European multinational organizations of the last 65 years (primarily as a means of security after the disasters of its world wars). Whether Germany is a tool of the globalist elites or the globalist elites are being leveraged by Germany for its own purposes, the result is the same. To the Germans, their primacy among European nations might well be worth coming to an agreement with the Davoisie as to tactics and end states.
I find what is happening in Austria equally as interesting as Germany from the perspective of us in the U.S.:

We can see parallels in what is being done there to both Germany and here in the U.S. It is always good to read and understand the enemy's playbook. Also interesting to see what is going on in Belarus and Poland in the context of Nordstream and continental politics. Way too much happening for someone like me to grok - but you can see games being played.
O/T but I wanted to round back to this topic because I put a lot of effort into pushing this idea nationwide.
Florida just sent aside fundings for our own State Defense Force.
Last year I went to a campaign supporting the states rights and the formation of State Defence Forces. I was kind of regarded as crazy and it was wrongly equated to seeking the formation of a militia without understanding that all branches of the armed forces in the US are in fact "militias".
SDFs granted to the states by federal statue are the basic equivalent of the national guard without the means to be called federally. They are wholly beholden to the states governor. States like Texas have active fulltime SDFs, other states have inactive SDFs. My push has been to get more States to change their statuses.
I despise DeSantis for a lot of things (I actually pay attention to his history, I don't trust his involvement with The Club for Growth) but this one I have to give him credit for getting right.
I'm hopeful this takes off elsewhere... We need volunteer defence forces that are alive and kicking in every state.
