Dems Who Want To Lash Out At The Others

I’m sure by now all readers have seen the account of results from a recent Rasmussen poll of likely voters:

COVID-19: Democratic Voters Support Harsh Measures Against Unvaccinated

Thursday, January 13, 2022

While many voters have become skeptical toward the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a majority of Democrats embrace restrictive policies, including punitive measures against those who haven’t gotten the COVID-19 vaccine.

This morning, to satisfy my curiosity as to just who these people are, I decided to take a look at the polling internals, which can be found at a link here. I found the results quite interesting, although not all that surprising. On the other hand, if you take the overall results of the poll—not focusing on specific questions too heavily—as a proxy for general openness to conservative values it appears that America leans heavily in a generally conservative direction by globalist standards. The younger generation is cause for concern, but there seems to be room for cautious optimism.

First, you need to know what the demographics of the poll were. Rasmussen tried to reflect the demographics of America in this poll (I omit age groups):

Gender

Men: 48%

Women: 52%

Race

White: 67%

Black: 13%

Hispanic: 13%

Other: 7%

Party

Republican: 33%

Democrat: 35%

Other: 32%

Right off the bat, you can see that “a majority of Dems” is, by definition, a small minority of Americans.

What I’ve done here is reproduce all the questions and, simplifying, broken down the strong supporters of punishing fellow Americans by race, followed by those who oppose punitive action against their fellow Americans, because the racial breakdowns were the starkest. The breakdowns by gender weren’t that interesting; the age breakdowns were somewhat more interesting. Some of that additional data is reflected in the comments that I’ve retained (INTERESTING CROSSTAB).

The two middle ground categories that I’ve omitted—somewhat favor/oppose—only came close to changing the overall balance in question #2, re mandates for big companies and government agencies. In that case, inclusion of the “somewhats” gives an even split—in all other categories most Americans were overwhelmingly opposed to the Covid Regime. I’ve edited the questions to reflect that only strong support/opposition is reported here:

Didn't we recently read that Blacks are the group least likely to be vaxxed? And, yet many Blacks seem to have a very favorable opinion of Fauci -- the same Fauci who experimented on orphaned young black children?! They like him but don't listen to him? How does that work exactly?
