Sounds like another show of force. Yemen or Syria is a possibility, but any other country the b52 would be a sitting duck.

Reality - The newest B52H is 62 years old…

The whole Vatican angle on this is really creepy & disconcerting; no matter how often you hear stories about their involvement in many strange occurrences.

The 2nd & 3rd Strat are stationed at Mildenhall in the UK. Trips back & forth to the ME are pretty regular (in fact 2 more are in the air headed that way now). There is almost always several floating around over the ME, 24/7, so much so that I hardly even notice them these days; I just assume we have a lot of assets in the air I cannot see that need refueling. Not to diminish what Mark's posted, just to say that we are very, very busy bees over the ME these days. The Qataris have even been flying their Eurofighters over Al Udeid since the Israelis failed Iranian blitz. Al Udeid is usually the hub Strats as I see when plane-geeking.

If we're bringing the B52's to the region...I guess those B-2 Spirits weren't quite enough. Some of you will find this article on the "Houthi Hunting Club" to be interesting or just plain amusing:
