Cause And Effect--Still Real

A defining characteristic of the Left—Liberalism, Progressivism, Wokeism, Establishment Elite Privilege, what have you—is the desire and repeated efforts to abolish the law of cause and effect. And yet reality keeps intruding itself into human affairs.

Boris Johnson is expected to face more questions about his leadership at Prime Minister's Questions, as the row over lockdown parties at No 10 continues.

A group of the newest Conservative MPs are believed to be preparing to submit letters of no confidence in him, having met to discuss the issue on Tuesday.

If 54 Tory MPs submit letters, it would trigger a leadership contest.

Only seven are known to have done so, but one MP told the BBC they thought the threshold could be reached shortly.

Another said there was now a consensus, and a leadership contest could come sooner rather than later.

However, only MP Sir Graham Brady, chair of the Conservative backbench 1922 committee - who receives and counts up the no-confidence requests - knows the exact number.

You’d almost think it was all about politics.

Yesterday there was this story:

Obviously this is political, too—in the face of Pelosi’s losing effort to make the Midterms about J6, GOPers see the much greater possibility of making the MIdterms a referendum on the Covid Regime that is obviously losing its Mojo. Partly it’s Ted Cruz trying to make amends for recent stupidities worthy of BoJo, partly it’s other GOPers sensing that the blood is in the water re the Covid Regime. Whatever it is, I’ll take it:

In a letter to FDA Acting Commissioner Janet Woodcock, more than two dozen Republicans in the House and Senate questioned the decision by the administration to forego the approval of the booster shot by the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC).

The group of Republicans argued that uncertainties surrounding the vaccine remain when it comes to children getting the jab.

The lawmakers pointed to a non-peer-reviewed study that has suggested that boys ages 12-15 who received the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine may have been under a higher risk of cardiac adverse events (CAE).

Parents are right to stand up for the kids and demand answers and accountability, and I’m proud to fight for them," Cruz told Fox News Digital.

All of which is probably proof that GOPers are perfectly capable of watching the news and learning some lessons. Like, remember the election in VA? Youngkin’s turnaround tactics could work for the party as a whole.
