A few months ago John Mearsheimer mentioned that a new book, not his, would be coming out that would be a sort of update to the Walt - Mearsheimer The Israel Lobby.
Israel needed a protector. After World War II, there was really only one country they could rely on to do that, and many Jews were already here.
I have two theories as to why the authors would go with "foreign" lobby: (1) the more generous is that in their minds that's the way to describe it because it's lobbying on behalf of another country not some American special interest, making it a very strange sort of lobby, or (2) the less generous is that they are afraid of being accused of falling into the dual loyalty "trope," even though it's highly inaccurate. What we're basically saying is that at least for the Jewish Zionists like Ben Shapiro and Mark Levin, they have a singular loyalty, not the US. In World War II, FDR put Japanese in internment camps because he feared they be more loyal to Japan than the US. What does that suggest about the Israelis with American passports? I don't agree with FDR, but what happened to the Japanese without evidence that any of them were working for Japan applies in spades to the the American Zionists. At the very least, we can recognize the religious nut-jobbery of the Evangelical Zionists, but what if we were to suggest the same about the Jewish Zionists: that this is not a legitimate conversation but instead the ravings of wealthy lunatics that any sane society would simply ignore and lump in with all the other religious nut-jobbery.

The forced move in congress to make dual citizenship acceptable by law was an act so egregious to our founding and has created the nightmare we have today. Samuel Huntington, the great sociologist and intellectual wrote about this in his book, "Who Are We?" and was quite alarmed by this action. He pointed out all the potential pitfalls and they are all coming into focus and true. I've always felt that Wilson is one of the worst, if not the worst US president.
Look at all the damage to our rights and freedoms he aided or permitted in the year 1913 alone.
