A lot of people probably think that a “Gun Control” bill, like the one that was whisked through Congress by the usual suspects, is about guns in some way or another. The reality, of course, is that the bill—even if not struck down for its obvious unconstitutional provisions—will have little real world effect on gun ownership. However, an interesting article I came across today explains that the bill will have real world effects in other areas of American life—ultimately, the effects will probably redound to campaign contributions from pharmaceutical connected companies:
Deep inside the gun bill: a break for prescription drug middlemen
Many Americans across the political spectrum are clamoring for federal action on guns in the wake of a mass shooting at an Uvalde, Texas, elementary school, a Buffalo, N.Y., grocery store and hundreds of other places.
Actually, as I’ve heard from impeccable sources, what “many Americans” are really “clamoring for” is more guns for themselves—gun sales have never been better. In fact gun retailers are swamped by the demand.
But buried in a bipartisan compromise hashed out by the U.S. Senate on Tuesday is an unrelated provision they might not be so happy about. Apropos of nothing, the gun bill would enhance the exemption drug middlemen working with Medicare have from the federal “Anti-Kickback Statute.”
That means, in this era of soaring costs, Senate negotiators decided to further insulate the nation’s largest health care companies from a federal law against accepting “any kickback, bribe, or rebate” — using a bill that’s supposedly about regulating guns.
The offices of the two lead negotiators, Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Chris Murphy, D-Conn., didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
Follow the link for details. The suspicion is that this was probably the main object of the bill right from the beginning. Yes—we have the best government money can buy.
If you follow the news a bit you may have seen recent articles like this one from the Daily Mail:
New data shows that Paxlovid, an antiviral Covid drug, provides little benefit to people that are healthy and fully vaccinated
The drug was at the center of Joe Biden's Covid response and the 'Test to Treat' program that rolled out this year
Earlier this year, the CDC warned that some Covid patients that were treated with the drug were seeing their symptoms come back after completing treatment
America's COVID-19 situation has remained at around 100,000 cases per day and 300 deaths per day over the past two weeks
OTOH, Little Tony apparently never got the memo. Not only did the quadruple injected megalomaniac get Covid, but he took Paxlovid for it. And now, having experienced “Paxlovid rebound”, he’s doing it again. You can read about it here:
Fauci Suffers "Much Worse" COVID Symptoms After 'Paxlovid Rebound'
Fully-vaxx'd and double-boosted mask-admirer Anthony Fauci is suffering.
Two weeks ago, we reported that President Biden's chief medical adviser had COVID.
The 81-year-old reportedly had 'mild symptoms' and of course he 'said the words'...
Of course, Fauci followed the CDC guidelines and ingested the government-blessed treatment - Paxlovid - due to his age and possible risks from the virus.
So, that should have been it right?
But no. …
I am stunned that Fauci believed his own propaganda and didn’t take ivermectin or any of the other effective remedies. He’s even dumber than I thought.
Mark - I am Amazed on a hot potato bill, they would add this type of junk:
“Anti-Kickback Statute.”
I am coming around to your view: "the most corrupt administration in US history"
I wonder if Trump is going to shove it down their throats?
