Brief Update: Palestine

There is clearly a lot going on behind the scenes. Israel is attempting to walk back some of its provocative attacks and rhetoric against Hezbollah. US is clearly desperate to avoid full blown regional war. My view: Only significant concessions will avoid war at this point—the genocide and terror attacks have probably gone too far. Netanyahu again calls for a 'ceasefire' with Hezbollah

"Israel is ready to resolve the conflict with the Hezbollah movement peacefully, but is considering other options in case of failure"

"Israel aims to protect its citizens and return residents of the north of the country to their places of residence.

This is a national goal that everyone shares and we are acting responsibly to achieve it. If it works out, then we will do it through political means, and if not, then we will act in other ways." - he also said.

"[Benjamin] Gantz [Minister w/o portfolio, former Chieif of Staff, more] also calls for 'CEASEFIRE' with Hezbollah

He says that Hezb-Allah is escalating in the north, however "Israel" is interested in a political solution.

Reuters:

Blinken will put pressure on the Arab countries to participate in the reconstruction and management of #Gaza

He will listen to the positions of those countries before presenting the proposal to the #Israelis.

Megatron: He practically intends to trade Gaza in exchange for a ceasefire with Hezbollah.
