I’m not big on making predictions, but it seems possible that there could soon be a major US attempt on the Kerch Bridge in Crimea. This has been rumored for some time, with the timing based on matters personal to Putin (his inauguration) to embarrass him and—I’m not kidding—lead to regime change in Russia. We now know that there are at least 100 ATACMS in Ukraine. With that in mind …

 ATACMS Struggling
Various reports indicate ~100 ATACMS missiles have been shipped to Ukraine. At least 15 have been used over the past several days in an attempt to strike Russian targets, mostly in Crimea. The Russian MoD reports all 15 have been intercepted.

 Wunderwaffen Clown Show
Over the past several days, at least 25 ATACMS have been fired at targets in Crimea, including 4 last night.
All of them have been shot down.
American ATACMS, Abrams tanks, and Bradley IFVs are the biggest failed wunderwaffen of the entire war.
Arguably, these attacks were prep for the major attack supposedly planned for next week. These attacks would have been intended to locate and evaluate Russian defenses.
Of course the Russians are well aware of all this. Over the past several months Russian rhetoric with regard to US provocations and escalations has become increasingly heated, pointedly noting that the West is becoming directly engaged in the war. This will be especially the case with ATACMS, because it’s generally considered that they have to be operated by highly trained NATO personnel. Russian deep attacks into Ukraine have also become increasingly aggressive, along with warnings about attacks from neighboring countries. So Schryver warned in early February (one paragraph excerpt from a lengthy post):
By any reasonable logic of conflict, the Russians would be well within their natural rights to strike back at the US/NATO ISR assets that have played such an essential role in several damaging attacks against them — in most cases directly providing requisite intelligence, surveillance, targeting data, and even real-time guidance to NATO-provided (and often NATO-operated) weapons intended to kill Russians.
Today he updates that:

 A Bridge Too Far?
The desperate US and its NATO lackeys are undoubtedly preparing a potent strike against the Crimea Bridge — very likely including ATACMS ballistic missiles and cruise missiles launched from F-16s piloted by NATO "volunteers".
I doubt it will go as planned.
As far as retaliation goes, Russia has many options. Schryver is focused on Ukraine. Andrei Martyanov references a WaPo article that points out overall serious US vulnerabilities. He begins with a reference to the planned attack on Crimea, then shifts to those broader issues (excerpts):
MOSCOW, May 4 – RIA Novosti. On watch air defense systems destroyed four ATACMS operational-tactical missiles fired by the Ukrainian Armed Forces over Crimea, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. “Over the past night, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using American ATACMS operational-tactical missiles against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped,” the department said. Air defense systems shot down four American-made missiles over the territory of Crimea, the Ministry of Defense added.
Vladimir Putin's Inauguration is on May 7, so these NATO cowards will continue their efforts to spoil it.
Meanwhile lament and suffering in Washington:
Opinion: The U.S. — and its troops abroad — are vulnerable to low-flying drones
As always, the solutions are about for everything good against everything bad.
Service members deployed overseas are increasingly facing threats from these uncrewed systems, too. The three American soldiers targeted in an attack in Jordan this January lost their lives to a small Iranian UAS. These systems have become a significant security problem, for which the U.S. military has minimal countermeasures. Iran’s attack on Israel this month only underscored the threat. In classified briefings and open settings, our committee has examined the threat posed by high-altitude craft and low-altitude drones. We discovered a series of underlying issues complicating an effective response to them. The first problem is that our nation lacks adequate drone detection capability. We still rely on the early warning radars that served us so well during the Cold War. Today, though, they are unable to detect, identify and track small aircraft at both high and low altitudes. Inside the United States, we can hardly track anything other than commercial aircraft. Almost none of our domestic military bases have the sensors to identify small drones.
Well, same goes for low-flying cruise missiles. Most of them fly much faster than drones, many of them fly with supersonic speeds, if you know what I mean. Some of them fly with hypersonic speeds, high and attack vertically down. …
Playing with fire.
Meanwhile on the home front:
Michael Tracey @mtracey
Alan Dershowitz vows he will engage in "massive offensive lawfare" against allegedly "anti-Semitic" student protesters. He threatens to have their dorm rooms taken away, take their cars and boomboxes, and "bankrupt" them. He says this is necessary to "deter" the return of Hitler

Now, this next is a real problem. I think it’s a major mistake by The Israel Lobby to be sending their lackey Cotton around urging violence as well as urging that employers refuse to hire those who are identified by the Lobby as targets. What? You really thought they aren’t taking names? Dersh specifically says he wants names and he’s not kidding:
chris eagan @chriseagan 2h
Jews: we don’t control america
Also jews: offend us and you will never learn or work in America again
This is all well organized and well funded. Max Blumenthal has documented the close ties of Columbia U. and the NYPD to the Israeli state security apparatus—including the use of undercover profs. You can count on it that these people are gathering names. Here’s a more garden variety example:Same student:
This girl has been doing lavishly-funded "pro-Israel" lobbying and activism since she was in high school! She also interned for the Majority Leader of the California State Senate, Robert Hertzberg, and was endorsed by the "Bruin Democrats" in her run for UCLA Student Government
Michael Tracey @mtracey
Pro-Israel UCLA student says she was "incredibly intimidated" by the "dangerous" political rhetoric of protesters, which "unfortunately is protected by Free Speech," as well as an "incredibly anti-Semitic" statue of a pig. "Anti-Zionism is most definitely Anti-Semitism," she says
The point is that these “scared Jewish students” are actually pros. That girl is actually an agent of a foreign government, but I’ll guarantee you that she’s not registered as such. Here’s the link for that organization she started out with in high school:
StandWithUs (SWU) (also known as Israel Emergency Alliance) is a nonprofit pro-Israel education and advocacy organization founded in Los Angeles in 2001 by Roz Rothstein, Jerry Rothstein, and Esther Renzer.
StandWithUs has gained prominence as a leading pro-Israel advocacy group. It maintains a significant presence on university campuses throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia and Brazil. The organization aims to combat what it perceives as antisemitism and misinformation related to Israel while promoting a positive image of the country. It trains students in pro-Israel advocacy, organizes protests, runs billboard and ad campaigns, and files complaints on the behalf of students. StandWithUs actively works to counter Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) campaigns on campuses and beyond. It has also engaged in collaborations with the Israeli government on various initiatives.
StandWithUs has faced controversy regarding its tactics and positions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Critics have accused it of misinformation, pinkwashing, stifling dissent, and limiting constructive dialogue about Israel, particularly in university settings.
And you thought she was just a random scared Jewish student?
And a reminder, cuz I like this:
