That seems to be the latest clever idea the Neocons have come up with to try to dig themselves out of the hole they find themselves in, in Ukraine. The idea is that they’ll do a ceasefire with Russia, and in the meantime they’ll rearm Ukraine in preparation for the next go round. That seems to have been the idea behind the Ukrainian spring offensive, which appears to have been stillborn, thanks to massive casualties at Bakhmut and Russia’s destruction of NATO munitions depots in Ukraine.
That’s the nub of the problem for this bright idea of a ceasefire or “frozen conflict”: Russia certainly has no interest in a ceasefire at all. Why would they be interested? They’re in the driver’s seat, and Patriots and F-16s aren’t going to change that fact. Larry Johnson puts it succinctly:
This is a panic move by the Biden team. The F-16s will make no tactical nor strategic change in the trajectory of this war. Ukraine’s prospects of reversing Russian success in its “Special Military Operation” grows more bleak with each passing day as the Russian Air Force and Army relentlessly pummel beleaguered Ukrainian troops with hypersonic missiles, 500 kilogram bombs, drones, artillery and troop assaults.
The tempo of the war underway in Ukraine has shifted dramatically in Russia’s favor and Ukraine has no answer. It is running out of artillery shells, tanks, aircraft and, most importantly, trained fighters who can execute large unit maneuvers. Delusion reigns supreme among most of the NATO allies, who insist that this war will drag on and that Ukraine will continue to stubbornly resist and exhaust the Russians.
Johnson also quotes Putin’s statement from nearly a year ago, which makes clear that the Russian strategy was working as planned. That has become even more obvious now:
“Today we hear that they want to defeat us on the battlefield.”
“Well, what can I say? Let them try.”
“We have already heard a lot about the West wanting to fight us ‘to the last Ukrainian.’”
“This is a tragedy for the Ukrainian people, but that seems to be where it is going.”
“But everyone should know that, by and large, we have not started anything in earnest yet.”
US-dominated Western regimes opposed to conflict resolution talks “should know that the longer (Russia’s SMO) goes on, the harder it will be for them to negotiate with us.”
Time and again I stressed the futility of diplomatic outreach to the US/West by Russia and other nations free from their control.
The only language their ruling regimes understand is toughness.
No other course of action is effective in dealing with them — why it’s a waste of time and effort trying.
Along these lines, Kim Dotcom today compares his comments from January, 2022, just before the Special Military Operation began. At that time Dotcom suggested that Putin was suckering the US/NATO into this war. I’m not convinced, although Dotcom is surely correct to trace the current state of affairs back to Putin’s two draft treaties, which Putin presented to the collective West as a non-negotiable demand. Dotcom is also, without a doubt, correct in maintaining that Putin fully expected that his demands would be rejected. The real significance of the two draft treaties was that they communicated that Putin had decided that Russia was fully prepared to preempt and weather the inevitable sanctions war. Here’s what Dotcom wrote back then:

Vladimir Putin has ruled Russia since 1999 and is the 2nd longest serving current European President. You simply don’t survive that long if you don’t have a unique skill set. That’s why nobody should underestimate Putins strategic move in Ukraine.
Is it a setup? Putin has made demands to the US and NATO not to expand NATO closer to the Russian border and not to place weapon systems in neighboring countries. He counts on the arrogance of the US to send him a refusal. Putin may use this to justify the invasion of Ukraine.
What if this isn’t about Ukraine? The real target may be the fragile US economy. A new war in Europe will send shockwaves around global markets. The enormous bandaid of quantitive easing (endless money printing to prop up US markets) is going to burst. A crashing house of cards.
The timing seems perfect. The US is on the verge of economic collapse and has been for a while. One major upset to the markets and the US could face a depression like never before, taking the rest of the world into an economic hell hole for years to come.
It’s seems like an opportune moment to reshuffle the deck of global politics and markets. Ask yourself why Putin would risk global sanctions for invading Ukraine. I see a calculated move. This may be Putins checkmate to end US dominance without firing a single shot at the US.
Those who underestimate Putin make a mistake. The arrogance of US Empire seems blind to the enormous trap that Putin is setting. A new war in Europe will crash global markets. A crash that is probably going to be more than the US can handle. Could this be the end of US Empire?
That was a year and about a half ago. While we haven’t seen the crash or collapse yet, there’s no question but that the collective West is suffering serious economic distress, which is getting worse. This morning Dotcom updates that initial take, taking into account the ploy of a ceasefire we discussed above, which has been floated by a variety of Western commentators. Dotcom lays out the reasons why Russia will never accept the idea of a ceasefire or a “frozen conflict”. There’s another reason, and it goes back to Dotcom’s previous thread and my own remarks at the top. A ceasefire would nullify the two draft treaties upon which Putin has predicated Russia’s future:

The US Govt is dreaming up a “frozen conflict” in Ukraine similar to the situation on the Korean Peninsula because they know that Ukraine cannot mount a meaningful counteroffensive and the West needs to stop bleeding money into Ukraine. Russia will never accept this. Here is why:
Russia is winning the war. Western sanctions don’t work because Russia cannot be isolated from other major economies. Russia is fighting a low cost war while the West bleeds tens of billions monthly to pay Ukraine for everything from arms to fuel to pensions. It’s unsustainable.
Russia has no interest in a Western controlled Ukraine. It cannot trust the West. The US strategists now realize that Putin bleeds Western prosperity into the black hole of Ukraine. Russia is collapsing Western economies without firing a single shot at them. Grandmaster chess.
China is watching with satisfaction how the situation in Ukraine unfolds. China was the main target of the US Govt goal to defend its hegemony. But US strategists got sucked into the Ukraine trap. When Western economies collapse China can integrate Taiwan without much resistance.
Russia will replace the Zelenskyy regime. Ukraine will default on all of its obligations to the West. This defeat will mark the end of US empire and NATO. The global reset will come in the form of BRICS+, de-dollarization and a multipolar era. Not what the WEF elites had in mind.
The last arrogant move by the US Govt is likely a nuclear war. Many Americans are aware of the betrayal by the deep state, corrupt politicians and their corporate puppet masters. The deep state cabal can either retire in nuclear bunkers or face the anger of the American people.
It takes two to tango. Russia is simply not interested. The rejection of the two draft treaties ensured that Putin’s strategic train would leave the station. There would be no turning back. The Neocons flail, but reality will force itself upon them.
To me, the fact that Zelensky hasn't set foot in Ukraine for going on a month suggests the war is already lost. He must now be running out of summits and conventions to turn up at but I'll be surprised if he returns to Kiev.
Re the drive to destroy Russia, and the covid lockdown catastrophe - unless the architects, AND THE PEOPLE BEHIND THEM, are strung up, there will be repeats. Republicans in the US are to blame for allowing these turns of events - they stood by, and worse, colluded. In God they DO NOT trust.
