Addenda To: Mandates, Data, Morality

I didn’t see these items before I was done writing Mandates, Data, Morality, so I’ll add them here. They touch on all aspects.

First, regarding data. I’m pretty sure most readers are aware of the reports coming out of the highly vaxxed--usually mandated--college and university environments of surging Covid cases. Here’s an example, mixing mandates and data, which confirms that the vaccines simply don’t prevent infection and transmission:

Here Robert Malone addresses mandates and morality, including Karl Denninger’s idea of public health dealing with “aggregates”, the common good--he’s obviously referring to Tony and Zhou:

I have seen reliable estimates that there have been at least 450,000 excess US deaths attributable to USG blocking early use of ivermectin and HCQ.

Finally, an ethics teacher from Canada addresses mandates and morality. While she doesn’t get into the natural law ideas explicitly, it underlies what she says. Basically, natural law argues that man’s greatest good is his rational nature, and to act against rationality violates the good of that nature: it’s bad, wrong, however you want to put it. Thus, Plato famously said that it’s worse to commit an injustice than to suffer an injustice. To commit and injustice abuses and degrades our rational nature, while to suffer an injustice does not. Mandates that violate rationality--which is the ability to freely choose based on reason--are injustices. They’re simply wrong, because they abuse and degrade our human nature:

All of this used to be our common heritage in the West. It was known and taught and informed our laws. It embodied all that was best in our civilization. These pearls have been cast before the swine who are busily trampling them underfoot.
